The 2027 Repco Supercars Championship calendar has been revealed, and with it comes a host of questions, takeaways and unknowns.
From Sydney in February, right through to Adelaide in November, the 2027 season will travel across Australia and across the Tasman Sea, stopping at the most revered circuits in Australasia.
Supercars.com highlights the key talking points from the new schedule.
14 championship rounds
As it was in 2026, there are 14 championship rounds in 2027, split across the Repco Sprint Cup, Ryco Enduro Cup, and Repco Supercars Finals Series. In comes Phillip Island for the Finals, with Ipswich's Queensland Raceway dropping off for 2027.
More than 7000km of racing
The 14 rounds are set to host more than 7000 kilometres of competitive racing action. The longest race of the year will be the Repco Bathurst 1000, with the shortest being the action-packed sprints at Albert Park. Formats and tyres will be confirmed in due course.
Racing in seven Aussie states and territories
New South Wales (Sydney and Bathurst), Queensland (Townsville and Gold Coast), Victoria (Albert Park, Sandown and Phillip Island) and South Australia (The Bend and Adelaide) will all host multiple rounds. Tasmania (Launceston), Northern Territory (Darwin) and Western Australia (Perth) have one round each.
Date changes for select events
Of notable movers, Tasmania will shift from May to March, with the Grand Prix moving back from March to April. That shifts the New Zealand Double Header from April to May, while Sandown moves from November to August.
New-look NZ Double Header
After running rounds in April since 2024, New Zealand action shifts to May for 2027. Christchurch, which debuted in 2026, will open the Double Header on May 7-9, before Taupō rounds out the mega fortnight of racing on May 14-16.
Standalone Super2 round at Mallala
For the first time since 2006, the rumble of Supercars will light up Mallala Motor Sport Park. The historic venue will host a standalone DUNLOP Super2 Series round, the first of its kind since One Raceway (formerly Wakefield Park) in 2008. The Mallala round falls onto Anzac Day weekend.
Darwin to host first ever night race
Hidden Valley Raceway will host a night race in 2027, some 29 years after the Darwin venue made its championship debut. Twilight racing will also take place across the weekend.
Repco Sprint Cup winner crowned at Sandown
The historic Melbourne circuit will take on a new look in 2027, in playing host to the finale of the Repco Sprint Cup. Sandown, which takes over Sprint Cup finale duties from Queensland Raceway, hosted the Semi Final in 2025 and 2026.
Phillip Island returns in new-look Finals
Taking Sandown's place in the Repco Supercars Finals Series is Phillip Island, which for the first time since 2019, hosts championship Supercars racing. The famous Phillip Island 500 moniker also returns, nearly 70 years after the early days of what we now know as the Great Race.
A new era for Adelaide
Held two weeks after the inaugural MotoGP race in Adelaide, the 2027 bp Adelaide Grand Final will be Supercars' first crack at the new-look circuit in the Adelaide Parklands.
