D'Alberto to make Super2 return ahead of Bathurst

Tony D'Alberto will drive an Eggleston Motorsport entry at this weekend Dunlop Series round in Sydney.

D'Alberto will feature in this weekend's 31-car field for the fourth event of the development series season.

It will mark crucial running for the 2017 Bathurst podium-finisher, who was present at Tuesday's test day in Sydney.

D'Alberto will share the #11 Shell V-Power Racing Team Mustang with Anton De Pasquale, who has won five of the last nine races.

D'Alberto, a veteran of 110 Supercars rounds and 16 Great Race starts, is no stranger to the development series.

The 35-year-old made 32 development series starts between 2003 and 2007, and won the 2007 title.

Driving for his own team, D'Alberto beat Michael Caruso to the 2007 crown before sealing a move to the main game in 2008.

The Victorian-based driver will join fellow veteran co-driver Tim Blanchard and Super2 rookie Matt McLean in the Eggleston Super2 line-up for this weekend's event.

Steven Page will return behind the wheel of the team's Super3 entry.

The Repco Supercars Championship and Dunlop Series seasons will resume this weekend at the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.

Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo.

The Seven Network will provide live free to air coverage of the event.
