Brad Vaughan fastest in final practice session of 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series
BJR driver just 0.07s clear of Cameron McLeod
Jackson Walls ruled out of weekend after Practice 1 crash
Brad Vaughan has topped the final practice session of the weekend for the Dunlop Super2 Series at the bp Adelaide Grand Final.
Sporting a new pink livery with backing from Dare Charged, the local South Aussie set a 1:20.1281 to pip Cameron McLeod by just 0.07s under clear skies in Adelaide.
The session ran green for all 40 minutes, with the field reduced by one for the remainder of the weekend.
Missing in action was Jackson Walls, whose Triple Eight Commodore sustained major damage in Practice 1 following a front end component failure and heavy contact with the concrete at Turn 13.
During the session, Triple Eight confirmed that Walls has been ruled out for the remainder of the weekend, with the car deemed unrepairable on site.
Early in the session, it was series leader and Practice 1 pacesetter Rylan Gray and Tickford teammate Reuben Goodall who traded fastest laps, with the Senna Chicane proving challenging for several drivers.
Campbell Logan had several moments through Turns 1 and 2, whilst Jobe Stewart had perhaps the wildest moment when he lifted up on to two wheels on full opposite lock, before travelling through the gravel.
Tickford weren't able to display the same speed at the end of the session when the field bolted on green tyres, with Gray only managing fifth, and Goodall seventh.
Lochie Dalton, Gray's chief title challenger bucked the trend to finish third in the session, whilst Nash Morris finished seventh after a brief halt to his session due to a starter motor issue.
Zach Bates had a competitive run to wind up fourth in his final Super2 outing before graduating full-time to the main game, leading the Eggleston Motorsport charge.
NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Jess Love finished the session at the tail of the 22-car field, but closed to within 1.7s of the benchmark time, and just two and a half tenths behind the next competitor.
The Dunlop Super2 Series returns to the Adelaide Parklands Circuit for two Boost Mobile Qualifying sessions. Race 1 Qualifying begins at 9:55am local time/10:25am AEDT, with Race 2 Qualifying at 2:50pm local/3:20pm AEDT.
