Aussie outfit Thundamentals and US DJ Lil Jon have been announced as the support acts the Hilltop Hoods at the Jim Beam 600 Sounds concert at the Castrol EDGE Gold Coast 600 - promising one of the biggest nights of hip hop music the Gold Coast will see this year.
The Jim Beam 600 Sounds concert - powered by Sea FM - is one of the most anticipated off-track events of the Castrol EDGE Gold Coast 600, drawing more than 10,000 people every year.
The concert, which will return to the Broadwater Parklands on Saturday 25 October, is free to anyone holding a same-day race ticket.
It's not the only electric music offering for the weekend. Club 600 will feature the world's leading female DJs including Brooke Evers, Emily Scott and Some Blonde will mix it with the best from around the country in the over-18s on-track party precinct.
Also returning for a night of high octane fun are Australia's biggest and most powerful drag racing machines for a two-hour adrenalin packed show on Friday evening.
The Thundamentals is one of most acclaimed groups in Australia's burgeoning hip hop scene. In the past four years, the Sydney-based group has had three releases including 2011 album Foreverlution's #19 debut on the Australian ARIA chart.
Considered one of the hardest partying DJs in the US, Lil Jon rose to prominence a decade ago as the face of the crunk movement. Since then, he's been embraced by a new generation thanks to releases like 2013's party-anthem "Turn Down for What" with DJ Snake, which has sold 3,000,000 copies in the US alone.
V8 Supercars' Chief Operating Officer Shane Howard, said the Jim Beam 600 Sounds concert - powered by Sea FM - would be the icing on the cake for crowds at the Castrol EDGE Gold Coast 600.
"The Gold Coast is famous for fun; we love a good time and a great party. That party atmosphere will permeate every aspect of this year's event - from the off-track activities to the race precinct," he said.
"Buy an event ticket and you'll get to watch all the on-track action, enjoy the Las Vegas style day-club with its all day DJs and then head straight to the concert for the Hilltop Hoods.
"We're talking wall to wall entertainment from 10am to 10pm. That's an incredible day of fun - especially when you consider that Saturday tickets start from just $76."
The Castrol EDGE Gold Coast 600 will run from 24 to 26 October. Information about the entertainment and racing programs is available at www.v8superfest.com.au or by clicking here.
