Drivers of both brands are armed with extra incentive at this weekend's round at Wanneroo Raceway.
This weekend's Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight will be headlined by three races.
Both Holden and Ford are chasing milestones of their own, one in which could be brought up in Saturday's night race.
The Holden brand, which was retired in 2020, has been carried to a record 599 wins in ATCC/Supercars competition.
The next win by a Commodore driver will be the 600th for Holden in ATCC/Supercars competition.
The Commodore is unbeaten so far in 2022; Shane van Gisbergen and Chaz Mostert have won all nine races.
The Commodore is undefeated in 2022
The first win for Holden came at Surfers Paradise in 1969, with Norm Beechey racing a Holden HK Monaro GTS327 to victory lane.
The Commodore nameplate has been raced to 549 of Holden’s 590 wins.
A 600th win for Holden would also carry the Commodore, which was retired in 2019, to 550 wins.
Van Gisbergen, who has won 58 of his 60 career races in Holdens, is eyeing a unique quadruple.
The defending series champion won the 450th, 500th and 550th races for Holden; however, he has never won in Perth.
Van Gisbergen's Race 4 victory in Tasmania pushed the current model Commodore ZB into third all-time on the models winners' list.
The Mustang got off to a winning start in 2019
The 2022 Repco Supercars Championship will feature the final battle between Holden and Ford.
The Chevrolet Camaro will the Commodore when the Gen3 ruleset debuts in 2023.
The Camaro will race alongside the Mustang nameplate, which has skippered Ford's efforts since 2019.
The Mustang GT is on 47 wins, and is just three away from becoming the seventh model to win 50 races.
The Mustang won on debut in Adelaide in 2019, just as the ZB did 12 months earlier.
Should the Mustang reach the half century in Perth, Ford drivers must win all three races on offer.
The Mustang won 16 of its first 17 races, largely in part due to Scott McLaughlin's dominance.
On paper, it's an achievable task; Fords have won 10 of the last 12 races at Wanneroo Raceway.
However, considering the form of van Gisbergen and Mostert, Mustang drivers will have it all to do in the West.
The Mustang also needs eight more wins to become Ford’s most successful model in ATCC/Supercars history.
