Former and current Supercars stars headline Repco’s new ‘Bringin’ the Bathurst’ TV ad, which launched in the countdown to this year's Great Race.
Repco has premiered its latest annual television advert, which celebrates the arrival of the Repco Bathurst 1000.
The 2025 race will be Repco’s fifth as naming rights since 2021.
Mount Panorama Circuit was closed for recording under controlled conditions, with a bus picking up a holidaying couple and taking them on a wild ride.
The likes of Matt Payne and 2024 Bathurst winner Todd Hazelwood feature on the bus, along with 2005 combatants Greg Murphy and Marcos Ambrose.
Murphy and Ambrose poked fun at their 2005 crash, in what was the first time in 20 years they had met at Mount Panorama since their infamous exchange at The Cutting.
"All sports need heroes and villains. When people look back at that period of 2000 to 2007 it was the height of rivalries in the sport,” Ambrose said.
Murphy added: “It was an amazing time to be part of the sport and that culminated for the two of us in a moment that is steeped in history."
This year’s Bringin’ the Bathurst ad was produced by Repco in conjunction with leading Australian creative marketing agency Thinkerbell.
“September means one thing and it’s not the AFL finals,” said Mitch Wiley, Executive General Manager, Marketing at Repco.
“The Repco Bathurst 1000 roars to life next month. As always, Repco’s annual Bringin’ the Bathurst TV ad is our way of celebrating with our fellow fans our shared passion for motorsport and Australia’s most famous motor race.
"After 20 years, Repco decided these two racing legends needed to close the door on Supercars’ most famous argument, so we approached them both and were thrilled they were happy to be part of it.”
Racing fans will also enjoy some extra little surprises in Repco’s big new TV ad. They bring to life Repco’s connection to the Bathurst enduro and give a nod to some of its historic moments."
Tickets for the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000, on October 9-12, are on sale now.
