A new generation Australian Defence Force Jet will take to the skies above the streets of Adelaide for the official pre-race flyovers for the first time at the 2023 VAILO Adelaide 500.

The announcement comes as the VAILO Adelaide 500 also confirms all event ticketholders will once again have access to free public transport to and from the circuit across the four-day event.

The RAAF’s F-35A Lightning II – the Australian Defence Force’s fifth-generation supersonic, stealth fighter – will roar above the circuit half an hour before both championship-deciding Supercars races on Saturday and Sunday.

All Adelaide metro bus, train and tram services will be free to ticketholders travelling to the event to see the special flyover.

Thanks to HomeStart, race goers can also take advantage of a free VAILO Adelaide 500 shuttle servicing a CBD route of over 17 stops to key gates around the circuit, then looping to the Adelaide Railway Station.

HomeStart Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mills said: “HomeStart is delighted to be supporting the VAILO 500 this year through its sponsorship of the CBD Shuttle Bus and the Family Zone.

“The VAILO Adelaide 500 is an important event for South Australia, bringing visitors to the city from across Adelaide, the state and Australia.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for fans to enjoy four exciting days of entertainment on and off the track, so we’re pleased to provide free public transport to the 2023 VAILO Adelaide 500.

“The addition of the free VAILO Adelaide 500 Shuttle, thanks to Homestart, will make it even more convenient for fans to go ALL IN and experience our world-class motorsport event.”

The shuttle will operate from approximately 8.30am to 7:00pm on Thursday, and approximately 8:00am to midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The VAILO Adelaide 500 will be held November 23-26, 2023. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketek with general admission free for kids 12 and under with a paying adult.
