Broc Feeney has survived a high-speed brush with the Albert Park wall to set the pace in final practice at the MSS Security Melbourne SuperSprint.

Feeney, who is nine points behind championship leader and teammate Will Brown, clocked a 1:47.3057s to lead the way heading into back-to-back Boost Mobile Qualifying.

The #88 Red Bull Ampol Chevrolet set the quickest time of the day with grazes down the left side, with Feeney rubbing the concrete at the high-speed Turn 8.

Feeney was just 0.0026s ahead of Cam Waters (#6 Monster Energy Ford), with Anton De Pasquale (#11 Shell V-Power Ford) moving to third at the death.

Drivers from six different teams filled the top six positions, with Andre Heimgartner (#8 R&J Batteries Chevrolet), Chaz Mostert (#25 Mobil 1 Optus Ford) and Matt Payne (#19 Penrite Ford) filling positions four through six.

Nick Percat (#4 Bendix Chevrolet) opened proceedings with a 1:48.0853s, before Waters reset the benchmark to a 1:47.8289s to lead an all-Ford top three.

Feeney was 24th and last before jumping to second with a 1:47.8461s, but was still nearly 0.4s behind new fast man Mostert's 1:47.4623s.

However, Feeney, who won the Albert Park finale 12 months ago, recovered from his Turn 8 adventure to put just 0.0026s between himself and Waters.

Practice 1 pace-setter Macauley Jones, in the SpongeBob Squarepants-inspired #96 Pizza Hut Chevrolet, ended up 23rd ahead of James Golding (#31 PremiAir Nulon Chevrolet).

Brown ended up seventh ahead of David Reynolds (#20 TRADIE Beer Chevrolet), with Jack Le Brocq (#99 TFH Hire Chevrolet) and Mark Winterbottom (#18 DEWALT Chevrolet) rounding out the top 10.

The session, like the earlier Practice 1, ran green for its entirety.

Supercars will return to the track for Race 3 Qualifying Race 3 at 3:10pm AEST, followed by Race 4 Qualifying at 3:35pm.

Race 3 starts at 5:55pm, and will run for 19 laps or one lap after 6:33pm.
