Jayden Ojeda will make his solo Supercars debut aboard a Walkinshaw Andretti United wildcard.

Ojeda, who finished third in the 2021 Dunlop Series, will race at Winton and Darwin.

The Sydneysider becomes the third different Super2 graduate to seal a wildcard slot this season.

Ojeda will share the Winton grid with Jordan Boys, and the Darwin grid with Zak Best.

Best and Boys will race in Tailem Bend later this year.

Ojeda is no stranger to the main game, having made Great Race starts in 2020 and 2021.

It comes after Ojeda was unable to secure a seat on the 2022 Dunlop Series grid.

He was Super2 runner-up in 2019, and also won the 2018 Australian Formula 4 title.

Ojeda’s first running aboard a WAU Supercar will come at Winton on Tuesday.

Next weekend, he will return to the Victorian track aboard the #27 WAU Commodore.

WAU last year fielded the car for Kurt Kostecki.

"I’m really excited to be joining Walkinshaw Andretti United this year,” Ojeda said.

"It’s an incredible opportunity, and it will be awesome to be back behind the wheel again.

"Today’s test at Winton will be great, not only for the laps, but it’s really important in terms of getting to learn the WAU Supercar.

"In addition, it will be great to join both Nick [Percat[ and Chaz [Mostert] and learn from two super experienced drivers.

"It will also be a great opportunity to bond with the team around me as well before we are racing in just over a week.

"Can’t wait for Winton first, but Darwin as well, to get out there, gain some experience, and hopefully get a few good results along the way."

The livery of the car and partner group will be revealed in coming days.

"It’s fantastic to have Jayden with us for two rounds as a wildcard,” WAU team principal Bruce Stewart said.

"We all can’t wait to see him make his main game debut and show what he is capable of.

"There’s no doubt he is a great young talent of the sport.

“Giving guys like him the opportunity to showcase their skills in the main game is not only pleasing for us as a team, but also crucial for the sport.

"We are excited to see what Jayden can do with us, which will hopefully progress his career at the same time.

"It will be great to have him alongside Chaz and Nick, all starting next weekend.”

The 2022 season will resume at Winton on May 21-22. Purchase your tickets now.
