Red Bull Ampol Racing has clinched its 10th teams' championship at the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.

Shane van Gisbergen led Jamie Whincup in Race 29 to help the team wrap up its first teams' title since 2018.

Triple Eight joins Dick Johnson Racing on 10 teams' championships, with the Ford team winning in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

The two squads have shared all 12 teams' titles dating back to 2010.

Red Bull Ampol Racing led the Shell V-Power Racing Team by 915 points heading into Saturday’s race.

Van Gisbergen goes from fifth to first in six laps

Van Gisbergen and Whincup’s one-two helped the team stretch its lead to 999 points.

Anton De Pasquale and Will Davison were fourth and ninth respectively.

With just 864 points remaining, the title is in Triple Eight’s hands for the first time in three years.

Triple Eight scored its first team’s title in 2008, before the Holden Racing Team pipped it to the post in 2009.

The team reeled off seven consecutive titles between 2010 and 2016 before DJR Team Penske won in 2017.

"It's awesome to win the teams’ championship," van Gisbergen.

"We’ve been having close battles with the guy’s next door for the last couple of years, but this year our team has absolutely killed it.

"Our cars have been absolutely flawless and at most rounds this season we’ve been so fast, so it’s a credit to everyone in the team, they truly deserve it."

Cars will return to the track for ARMOR ALL Qualifying on Sunday at 10:50am AEST. Click here to view the race schedule.

Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo.

The Seven Network will provide live free to air coverage of the event. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
