The biggest week in Australian motorsport is upon us, but for some it is the biggest and busiest week of their careers.
Eight rising stars of the Dunlop Super2 Series will be contesting double duties across both their development series commitments and the Repco Bathurst 1000.
With Dunlop Series action for the weekend comprising of two practice sessions, two qualifying sessions, a Top Five Shootout, and two races, it's already set to be a big weekend for all 22 Super2 competitors.
However, when you throw in two co-driver sessions in Supercars, plus four extra practices, qualifying, the Top Ten Shootout, the warm-up, and the 161-lap race, drivers on double duties could potentially be driving in as many as 17 track sessions for the weekend.
With some leading wildcard efforts, and others in cars that could shape as dark horses for the 1000km classic, there's plenty of young stars to keep an eye on at the Mountain.
Supercars.com introduces you to the eight young guns who will compete across both tiers of Supercars competition at the Repco Bathurst 1000.
Zach Bates
Currently 10th in Super2 standings
Finished 16th at The Bend 500 with Craig Lowndes

His Super2 title defence might be all but over, but a stunning Supercars debut in Ipswich was further proof that Zach Bates is a star on the rise. Outright speed at The Bend was hard to come by with 26th in qualifying, however his final two stints were largely responsible for dragging the #888 Camaro up to 16th at the finish, in what was a tough weekend for Craig Lowndes. Being the co-driver for Lowndes' final Bathurst start with Triple Eight will undoubtedly bring plenty of eyeballs onto the 21-year-old across the course of the weekend, and he will be desperate to add to his single podium finish in the Super2 campaign.
Rylan Gray/Lochie Dalton
Currently 1st, 3rd in Super2 standings
Finished 22nd at The Bend 500
Tickford duo Rylan Gray and Lochie Dalton combined for their enduro debuts at The Bend, and although there were flashes of speed through the early part of the weekend, it wasn't translated in qualifying or the race. Gray enters the penultimate round with a strong series lead, and returns to the scene of his first career round victory 12 months ago. Meanwhile, Dalton's season came alive with a blinding 300-point weekend in Townsville, with the last four races seeing the Tasmanian surge from 11th to third in the standings.
Jobe Stewart
Currently 11th in Super2 standings
Finished 7th at The Bend 500 with Cooper Murray

Much like Bates, a difficult Super2 campaign was quickly forgotten with a superb main game debut at The Bend, finishing seventh alongside Cooper Murray. Most impressive was his second stint, where he mixed it with established full-timers such as Cameron Hill and Kai Allen, both of whom he overtook on genuine speed. The result has placed him in a very strong position to graduate to the main game with Erebus in 2026, and a strong Bathurst result could seal it if he hasn't already. 12 months ago Stewart had a breakout Super2 result, storming to victory on Friday in emphatic fashion.
Cameron McLeod
Currently 8th in Super2 standings
Finished 11th at The Bend 500 with Cameron Hill

The Bend was a case of what could've been for McLeod, who was running in a strong third and keeping pace with Jamie Whincup before running off the road in the opening stint. No Safety Car interventions cruelled their chances of moving back through the field, however apart from that one error, he drove a strong stint. Bathurst will be a new challenge for the Sydney Race 1 winner, who will contest double duties at Bathurst for the first time, having opted to sit out of last year's October round to focus on his 1000 debut with PremiAir Racing.
Jarrod Hughes
Currently 20th in Super2 standings
Finished 12th at The Bend 500 with Jack Le Brocq

We know Jarrod Hughes is one of the brightest characters in the paddock, however we've seen a different side to him over the past few weeks. After dislocating his shoulder in a nasty Rave 1 crash in Ipswich, Hughes fought the pain barrier to be back in the car at the Ipswich Enduro Test Day three days later. He also was fighting pain during his double stint at The Bend, this time battling cramped toes. Despite that and getting boxed around on the opening lap, Hughes showed plenty of speed to haul the #9 Camaro from 20th back to 13th.
Nash Morris
Currently 2nd in Super2 standings
Finished 23rd at The Bend 500 with Richie Stanaway

2025 has been a breakout campaign for the son of 2014 Bathurst winner Paul, who is currently second in the standings heading to Bathurst, 114 points behind teammate Gray. The #222 Mustang could be one to watch at Bathurst, with Morris set to debut a brand-new chassis at Mount Panorama. Should Gray strike dramas, he's well within range to pounce, especially when you consider that Kai Allen had a 126-point buffer before his nightmare weekend last year. If Richie Stanaway can discover his impressive Bathurst form, a top 10 in the 1000 wouldn't be out of the question either.
Brad Vaughan
Currently 9th in Super2 standings
Finished 20th at The Bend 500 with Bryce Fullwood

The fast South Aussie was back in the Super2 Pole Award honours list in Ipswich, and has been largely inside the top 10 throughout the Super2 campaign for Brad Jones Racing. He also gets his first crack at a Bathurst 1000 in a full-time Supercars entry, alongside Bryce Fullwood in the #14 Camaro. Last year Vaughan blazed to a stunning pole margin of 0.6224s in a Tickford Mustang for the opening race of the weekend, but couldn't convert it to a big result, only finishing sixth after a poor start.
Who else?

It's also worth mentioning Porsche Carrera Cup, who will have three of their stars on the 1000 grid come Sunday. Headlining the trio is current championship leader Harri Jones, who will be aiming to help Anton De Pasquale maintain his provisional Finals berth in his Bathurst debut. Veteran Dale Wood teams up with Penrite Racing's Kai Allen, who currently sits on the all-important Finals bubble in 10th, just 18 points ahead of Andre Heimgartner. David Russell also returns alongside James Golding at PremiAir Racing.
