With the season-opening Thrifty Bathurst 500 less than a month away, Supercars teams are fast at work preparing their cars and equipment for the upcoming season.

But race fans will be able to see their favourite drivers in action before they hit the track at Mount Panorama, with pre-season testing set to commence in early February.

Queensland-based Supercars teams will hit the track at Ipswich’s Queensland Raceway on Monday February 5, while southern-based teams will head to Winton Motor Raceway on Wednesday February 7 for their pre-season test.

Both test days will be open to the public, where fans can get a look at teams and drivers undertaking critical mileage ahead of Race 1 at Mount Panorama.

At QR, Will Brown is set to embark on his first Supercar test day with Triple Eight Race Engineering, alongside 21-year old teammate Broc Feeney.

Matt Stone Racing newcomer Nick Percat will also turn his first laps in his new home on the day, with Canberran Cameron Hill returning for his second season.

Driver line-ups are unchanged at Dick Johnson Racing and PremiAir Racing, however both teams will hold their first test days with restructured engineering and management positions following star engineer Ludo Lacroix’s defection from DJR to Arundel-based PremiAir Racing.

Two days later, the 16 Supercars from Victoria and New South Wales-based teams will hit the track at Winton for their first full hit out of 2024.

Newly-crowned champion Brodie Kostecki will take the first steps towards his title defence, as stablemate Jack Le Brocq settles in to his new home at Erebus Motorsport.

Reigning Bathurst 1000 winner Richie Stanaway will officially return to a full-time role behind the wheel with Grove Racing, while Ryan Wood (Walkinshaw Andretti United), Aaron Love (Blanchard Racing Team), and Jaxon Evans (Brad Jones Racing) will embark on their rookie seasons in the championship.

Supercars teams are permitted three test days per season, with the designated pre-season test counting as one of those three days.

Outside of those days, teams with a new chassis are permitted a 'shakedown' of the new chassis with limited running prior to testing

Meanwhile, drivers in their first two seasons in the championship are granted an additional three test days to use across the season.

Following each team’s pre-season test day in early February, teams will re-group and prepare for the season-opening Thrifty Bathurst 500, taking place February 23-25 as part of the Bathurst SuperFest at Mount Panorama.

The Bathurst SuperFest consists of the Bathurst 500 and the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour GT3 race, taking place the weekend before, February 16-18.

At least six full-time Supercars drivers are set to contest both race weekends, including Feeney, Brown, Evans, Percat, Cameron Hill, Cam Waters, Chaz Mostert, and Thomas Randle.

Both the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour and Thrifty Bathurst 500 are proudly supported by the NSW Government via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.

Live coverage of the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour and Thrifty Bathurst 500 will be found on the Seven and Foxtel family of networks.
