Thrifty takes naming rights of 2023 Newcastle 500
The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship season opener, that will feature the first-ever races between the Gen3 Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, will be known as the Thrifty Newcastle 500.
Work has now begun on planning for the highly anticipated debut of the Gen3 Camaro and Mustang, which will roll out on the Newcastle Street Circuit from 10-12 March.
As well as naming rights for the Newcastle 500, Thrifty Car Rental has also partnered with the Repco Supercars Championship to become the Official Hire Car Partner for the next two years.
Thrifty’s Vice President, Eoin MacNeill, said: “We are excited to partner with Australasia’s leading touring car category, the Repco Supercars Championship on this new multi-year deal.
"Supercars has a national footprint and we are thrilled to be working with them to deliver world-class events from 2023 when we welcome the Gen3 Mustang and Camaro to the grid.

Supercars CEO Shane Howard said: “I’d like to thank Thrifty for coming on board with Supercars for the coming years.
“The most recent economic assessment report found that on average, the Newcastle 500 delivered $36.2 million annually, making it one of the most lucrative events to partner with on the calendar.
“To have an internationally recognised brand like Thrifty on board as naming rights partner for one of our marquee events is great news ahead of our 2023 Championship.”
Tickets are now on sale for Grandstand, General Admission and Corporate facilities for the 2023 Thrifty Newcastle 500 through Supercars.com and Ticketek.
Supercars will be on track all three days of the event and fans will be able to get up close with their favourite drivers across race week celebrations.
