Reigning teams' champions Erebus Motorsport will head pit lane
Supercars has adopted Live Pit Lane for 2024
Reigning teams' champions Erebus Motorsport will open the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship at the head of pit lane, with the allocation confirmed for the Thrifty Bathurst 500.
By virtue of winning the 2023 teams' championship, Erebus will occupy the two garages closest to pit exit this year.
Erebus recruits Todd Hazelwood and Jack Le Brocq will have the honour of rolling out of pit lane first at next weekend's Thrifty Bathurst 500. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
They will be followed by Chevrolet rivals Triple Eight Race Engineering, with Will Brown joining Broc Feeney at Red Bull Ampol Racing.
However, the pit lane order may look markedly different when the season resumes at the Melbourne SuperSprint, with Supercars introducing the Live Pit Lane rule in 2024.
For the first round in 2024, the Bathurst 500, the pit lane order will be allocated by Supercars based on the final classification of the final 2023 teams' championship order.
At Round 1, the champion team to occupy Pit Bay 1. The team with the second highest points will occupy Pit Bay 2, and so on.
From Round 2 onwards, the pit lane order will be allocated by Supercars based on the final classification of the team points report of the previous event.
The team from the previous event with the highest team points accrued will occupy Pit Bay 1. The team with the second highest points from the previous event will occupy Pit Bay 2, and so on.
The new season will commence at Mount Panorama on February 23-25. Tickets are on sale now.
