With the biggest party on the Gold Coast just days away, Supercars drivers welcomed the arrival of Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 race week with a trip to the beach.

Drivers James Courtney, Anton De Pasquale, Andre Heimgartner, and Declan Fraser spoke to media Monday morning at Surfers Paradise beach before debuting this year’s famous surfboard trophies, awarded to the top three finishers in each of the weekend’s two Supercars races.

2010 Supercars champion Courtney took a popular win on the streets of the Gold Coast in 2015 alongside Jack Perkins, and is hungry to add another surfboard to his collection this weekend.

New Zealand-born Heimgartner and Melbourne-native De Pasquale are both Supercars race winners, but the now Gold Coast residents have yet to taste victory at their adopted home race.

Rookie Fraser, who hails from Mackay, is eager to hit the track in what will be his first time racing on the tricky street circuit.

On-track action begins Friday at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, with three full days of racing action to be followed by three nights of off-track entertainment, including the likes of The Presets, Client Liaison, Mashd N Kutcher, Illy, and more set to take to the stage.

Live coverage of the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 can be found on Seven and Foxtel, with live streaming available via 7plus and Kayo.

Tickets to Queensland’s largest annual sporting event can be purchased via Supercars.com and Ticketek.
