  • David Reynolds wants answers to disastrous 2025 start

  • Team 18 driver 223 points, 13 positions behind teammate Anton De Pasquale

  • Reynolds has best finish of 11th after three rounds

After three rounds, David Reynolds is yet to record a top 10, and is 13 positions behind his teammate in the championship.

As a result, the Team 18 veteran wants to sit down with his team and find answers as to why his 2025 campaign is stuttering.

Reynolds' struggles continued in Taupō, qualifying 18th, 20th and 19th, and finishing 11th, 17th and 17th.

While he moved forward in all three races, he has failed to record a top 10 finish through three rounds for the first time in his Supercars career.

The biggest pain is on the leaderboard, with Reynolds 21st, some 223 points and 13 positions behind new teammate Anton De Pasquale. De Pasquale finished fourth in the opener and qualified on the front row for the finale.

De Pasquale leads the qualifying head-to-head 9-1, and the race head-to-head 8-1.

In the wake of another tough round, Reynolds says "we need to really sit down and talk about what's going on."

“Didn't have the best weekend. Didn't qualify that well at any stage. Really struggled with the car, a lot of turn-in oversteer, a lot of uncertainty driving it in qualifying," the 2017 Bathurst winner said.

"The races didn't go too bad, we made spots in most races today. The last race we started, 20th, which is no good. But my first stint was completely junk, like I was out of control.

"The rear's just out of control all the time and then the next two stints, the car balanced up and felt normal and had reasonable pace, and we went from pretty much last to 17th, all the damage was done in the first stint.

“Other than that, we need to really sit down and talk about what's going on, really dive deep into the data and all the mechanical bits on the car and make sure everything's correct, and then we can formulate ideas from them.

“Next round we head to Tassie where we were super strong there last year. So we'll have a good set-up base and can't wait to get there."

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the Snowy River Caravans Tasmania Super 440 on May 9-11. Tickets are on sale now.
