  • ARIA Hall of Fame rock icons Jet to play at Sydney 500

  • Saturday night pit straight party following Supercars race

  • 2026 season-opening Sydney 500 takes place February 20-22

Aussie icons Jet will ignite the Supercars season-opening Sydney 500, with a Saturday night rock concert on pit straight at Sydney Motorsport Park.

It adds festival-headlining star power to launch the new season of the Repco Supercars Championship.

The ‘Party in the Pit’ concert takes place immediately after Saturday night’s Supercars race at the Sydney 500, with all tickets granting access to the pit straight track and grandstands at the Eastern Creek circuit.

Jet’s classic performance alongside Lenny Kravitz and AC/DC helped draw more than 200,000 fans to last season’s bp Adelaide Grand Final.

The ARIA Hall of Fame band became an instant global sensational with their 2003 debut album ‘Get Born’. Their iconic Are You Gonna Be My Girl is entrenched in the Great Australian Song Book.

Supercars Chief Executive James Warburton says it’s a perfect way for fans to celebrate the start of our new season, that’s all set up to be one of the biggest in history.

“This just adds to the huge buzz about Supercars heading into 2026, after the sensational 2025 season, with record-breaking crowds and television audiences, our first Finals series and Grand Final thriller,” Warburton says.

"With the arrival of the new Toyota GR Supra and a crop of hungry young guns chasing Chaz Mostert under lights, the Sydney 500 sets up a perfect start to a wide open Championship.”

Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper said: “The NSW Government has a long and proud history of partnering with Supercars to deliver unforgettable moments for motorsport fans and Jet’s performance at the 2026 Supercars season opener will be another winner for the NSW visitor economy.”

“The Sydney 500 will also offer Australia’s most unique motor racing experience, twilight racing under lights at Sydney Motorsport Park, cementing our state’s reputation as the nation’s motorsport capital.”

The Sydney 500 launches the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship season on February 20-22 at Sydney Motorsport Park, with Supercars races on each of the three days.

Tickets and corporate hospitality options for the Sydney 500 can be purchased via Supercars.com and Ticketek, with all tickets valid for Saturday granting access to the post-race ‘Party in the Pit’.

The Sydney 500 is proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
