The fight for the Jason Richards Trophy concludes at the first ever ITM Christchurch Super 440.
The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship heated up in Taupō, but is set to get even spicier when all 24 Supercars roll out on the Ruapuna circuit for the first time.
Drivers are racing for the Jason Richards Trophy, which is 2026, will be awarded to the driver who scores the most points in the two ITM NZ Double Header rounds.

A wild conclusion
Matt Payne was once again in a league of his own in Christchurch, in what turned out to be a wild finale to the ITM Christchurch Super 440. A late-race engine failure for Ryan Wood cost the Kiwi the Jason Richards Trophy, before a crazy three-lap dash to the finish saw Brodie Kostecki and Chaz Mostert come to blows in a wild incident.
Payne on pole, Wood in box seat
Matt Payne claimed his second pole position of the ITM Christchurch Super 440 with a dominant run in the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout. Anton De Pasquale used a unique tyre strategy to vault his DEWALT Camaro up to second on the grid, whilst Ryan Wood made it two Kiwis in the top three in his Toyota.
Payne fastest, Wood scrapes through
An all-star top 10 will contest Sunday's all-important ITM Christchurch Super 440, with Matt Payne soaring to provisional pole for Race 13. It was a session of head-scratching for Walkinshaw TWG Racing, though, with Jason Richards Trophy leader Ryan Wood sneaking into the Shootout.
Payne hits back
Matt Payne claimed a crushing win in Race 12 of the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship at the ITM Christchurch Super 440. The reigning Bathurst winner never looked threatened in New Zealand, putting on a clinic to romp home ahead of Broc Feeney by more than 11 seconds.
Kostecki wins, Payne loses wheel
Brodie Kostecki continued to stamp his authority on the Repco Sprint Cup, claiming his fifth win of the season in Race 11 at the Christchurch Super 440. It was mixed emotions for Penrite Racing, however, with Matt Payne missing a podium and potential win following a bungled pit stop.
Wood storms to Race 12 pole
Ryan Wood stormed to Race 12 pole at the ITM Christchurch Super 440, with Kiwi mate Matt Payne second. Race 11 pole man Brodie Kostecki was joined by Friday winner Kai Allen on the second row, with Anton De Pasquale first Chevrolet home in fifth alongside Broc Feeney.
Kostecki claims Race 11 pole
Brodie Kostecki marched on with another Boost Mobile Pole, turning the tables on Friday pole winner Matt Payne. Aaron Cameron and Friday winner Kai Allen form a surprise second row, ahead of arch-rivals Broc Feeney and Ryan Wood on the third row.
Allen wins
Kai Allen became the 89th winner in ATCC/Supercars history after a faultless drive under maximum pressure in Race 10 at the ITM Christchurch Super 440. Starting from fourth, Penrite Racing rolled the dice on strategy and came up trumps, with track position proving vital amid a charging Brodie Kostecki.
Payne on pole
Matt Payne wrote his name into the history books as the first-ever Supercars pole winner in Christchurch. The defending Jason Richards Memorial Trophy winner claimed the Boost Mobile Pole Award for Race 10 by the barest of margins, pipping Brodie Kostecki by just 0.0308s to claim his second pole of the season.
Payne leads Penrite Racing 1-2 in practice
Kiwi star Matt Payne landed the first blow at the ITM Christchurch Super 440, clocking the fastest time in the first ever Supercars session at Ruapuna. In the very first competitive session at Ruapuna Raceway, it was normal service resumed for the Penrite Racing star, with Payne fastest of all through 45 minutes.
Wood in box seat for JR Trophy
Ryan Wood won the Taupō finale to secure not only the Jason Richards Trophy lead, but also an historic first Supercars race win for Toyota. Arch-rival Broc Feeney is second in the standings, followed by Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki.
Kostecki leads as Supercars arrives in Christchurch
Brodie Kostecki took the lead in Melbourne, and won the Taupō opener to put himself in pole position to leave New Zealand on top. However, a disaster for Cam Waters and quiet weekend for Matt Payne helped Broc Feeney move to second overall.
