Garry Rogers Motorsport announces Super2 return

Garry Rogers Motorsport's Supercars revival has taken another step, with the team confirming it will make a return to the DUNLOP Super2 Series at the 2026 bp Adelaide Grand Final.
GRM will enter 18-year-old Queenslander Lachlan Evennett in a Holden Commodore ZB, complete with GRM's iconic #34, as the team makes its first appearance in the development series since Newcastle 2019.
Evennett joined GRM's Trans Am outfit for the 2025 season, and starred at last year's Adelaide Trans Am round with three podiums in as many starts.
The Townsville product is also a race winner in GT4 in both Australia and New Zealand, and claimed a podium finish in the European GT4 Series earlier this season.
Long-time backers of Evennett, CAMMN Quarries & Concrete, will back the #34 Holden.
“Super2 has been a category that I have been interested in doing for a little while now to gain valuable Supercar experience and make that next step in my career," Evennett said.
"Barry [Rogers] approached us with the idea that GRM were looking to field a Super2 car in Adelaide, and it was an easy decision to say yes. It feels really special to be tackling this head on with GRM.
"There’s no doubt they have the experience and knowledge to guide me through it. I feel really honoured to run the 34 as well, it has a lot of heritage in the GRM stables so I can’t thank Barry and the whole team enough for the opportunity.
“Supercars are always considered one of the hardest cars to drive due to how uniquely they are built and the techniques required to wring the most lap time out of the car.
"It will definitely be a challenge to get my head around, but I think my time in Trans Am has given me a good baseline and comfort level in a lot of relevant areas.
“I can’t wait to run the car at Adelaide as well considering it was a good track for me in Trans Am last year and definitely made an imprint as one of my favourite tracks.”
GRM Director Barry Rogers added: “It’s really easy to forget that Lachy only turned 18 earlier this year, considering the motorsport that he has consumed throughout 2026.
“Lachy first came to our attention when he was 14-years old racing Formula Ford. Dad (Garry), was a strong believer in Formula Ford and rated highly the young drivers who performed in that category.
"A lot of credit must be given to Brett Francis and his team for the way they have developed Lachy through both their Formula Ford and Toyota 86 programs.
“Lachy took part in the GRM/Marcos Ambrose Combine in 2024 and we immediately knew he was a driver that we wanted at GRM and he debuted with us in 2025 in the Trans Am Series.
“It’s now time for Lachy to take that next step, and that will be in a GRM Super2 car this November. Personally, I am tremendously proud of Stefan Millard who runs our team and James Moffat who takes on a leadership role in helping the young GRM drivers progress with their careers."
GRM were one of the first main game teams to enter Super2 back in 2001, with Leanne Ferrier finishing fifth in points. The team returned to Super2 with GRM prodigy James Golding in 2015.
Golding finished fourth in 2016 season, before Chris Pither won the title for GRM in 2018.
The DUNLOP Super2 Series is next in action for Round 4 at the Repco Bathurst 1000 from October 8-11.
