Lochie Dalton untouchable in Darwin Super2 finale
Dalton leads every lap as title contenders get caught in incidents
Race 1 winner Campbell Logan secures maiden round win
Lochie Dalton has completed his redemption from a shock late race error on Saturday to win the second DUNLOP Super2 Series race at the betr Darwin Triple Crown.
Starting from pole position, Dalton led every lap and recorded the fastest lap of the race in a grand slam performance, whilst his nearest title rivals all copped big points hits.
Behind Dalton was Tickford Autosport's Campbell Logan, who secured his maiden round win, and the first for Tickford in the 2026 season.
Neither Dalton nor Nash Morris got good launches off the front row of the grid, with Brad Vaughan pulling to the outside with a great start off Row 2.
Vaughan went around the outside of Morris at the first corner, while Dalton did just enough to hang on to his lead and promptly bolted, pulling 1.1 seconds in the first lap alone.
The Brad Jones Racing Commodore was slightly quicker than the Blanchard Racing Team Ford early, however Dalton soon responded to Vaughan's speed, and was ultimately left clear to cruise home to his second Sunday win in two attempts.
Dalton's day was made even better as both of his nearest title contenders took big points hits in separate incidents.
Ben Gomersall had quietly jumped to second in points with a podium on Saturday, and was on the comeback trail, having started 11th after suffering a starter motor issue in qualifying.
However, a robust move at Turn 1 on Cody Burcher would come back to bite him, as he would soon suffer a right rear puncture at Turn 11, which sent him tumbling to the rear of the pack.
That left Vaughan in position to jump back up to second in points, but he soon found himself coming under pressure from Morris, as the Tickford Mustang started to come to life in the second half of the race.
Morris had a half-hearted look at Turn 5 on lap 16, and sent the #80 Commodore into a spin, Morris picking up his second 15-second penalty in as many days.
It was double delight for the Tasmanian contingent, the collision also promoting Campbell Logan to the round victory, his first round win coming in his 14th Super2 round.
Dalton's margin of victory came in at 5.4 seconds, with Logan promoted to second following Morris' penalty, and Reuben Goodall rounding out the podium after his tough Saturday.
Bayley Hall secured third for the round, and rookie of the round honours with another fine drive to fourth, ahead of the reclassified Morris, who finished ahead of Vaughan in sixth.
The top 10 was rounded out by Elliott Cleary, Burcher, Bradi Owen, and Ryan Tomsett.
The DUNLOP Super2 Series returns for their third round of the season at the Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440 from July 31-August 2.
