Ojeda, Bates news comes after Ford confirmed Broc Feeney for 2026 race
Supercars rookies Jayden Ojeda and Zach Bates will race for Mercedes-AMG at the upcoming Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
Mercedes-AMG will field 10 entries at the February 13-15 event, with Ojeda and Bates the latest Supercars drivers locked in for the German marque.
The 10-strong AMG fleet will be represented by international squads 75 Express, Team GMR and Craft-Bamboo Racing, and Aussie teams Grove Racing, Scott Taylor Motorsport and Tigani Motorsport.
PremiAir Racing recruit Ojeda, a factory Mercedes driver, will race Tigani's Pro entry with Philip Ellis and Fabian Schiller. Bates, the 2024 Super2 champion, will make his GT3 racing debut as part of the Tigani-run Bronze car with David Russell, James Koundouris and Theo Koundouris.
Ojeda and Bates join fellow Supercars drivers Chaz Mostert, Cam Waters, Thomas Randle and Kai Allen in AMG’s Bathurst 12 Hour fleet.
Mostert, Waters and Randle combine in an all-Supercars Scott Taylor Motorsport entry, while Allen will race with two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Will Davison and Brenton Grove in a Grove Racing Mercedes.
Mercedes-AMG is aiming for its fourth Bathurst 12 Hour win following victories in 2013, 2022 and 2023.
“The Bathurst 12 Hour is one of the most important races on the international GT calendar,” Stefan Wendl, Head of Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing, said.
“With 10 Mercedes-AMG GT3 cars – including six vehicles in the Pro class – we will once again field the largest brand entry in the grid in 2026, underlining the strength and appeal of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 for our Customer Racing Teams worldwide.
“The Mount Panorama Circuit is one of the most technically demanding tracks in GT racing and places the highest demands on the car, the team and the drivers.
“Our goal is clear: we want to fight for overall victory once again at the opening round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.”
Broc Feeney was recently confirmed in Ford’s Mustang entry, alongside Christopher Mies and Dennis Olsen.
