  • GM on longest winless run in Supercars since 1993

  • Camaro issued second parity revision in as many rounds

After a largely barren start to their 2026 Supercars campaign, Chevrolet teams are about to embark on a six-race run that could be season-defining.

Chevrolet have only claimed one podium so far this season, courtesy of Anton De Pasquale's impressive win at Sydney, though that came in just the second race of the season.

For the most part, Camaro teams have struggled across the following rounds in Melbourne, Taupō, and Christchurch, a fourth place finish for Jack Le Brocq in Melbourne the high point in those three rounds.

Supercars issued a parity revision ahead of the four-race weekend in Christchurch, and have since announced minor revisions to be made ahead of the season's resumption in Tasmania.

The next two rounds in Tasmania and Darwin are set to be key litmus tests for Chevrolet's hopes in the 2026 season, with GM having intimidating winning records.

GM are undefeated in the Gen3 era in Darwin, and have a 75% winning record in the same time in Tasmania.

Furthermore, the wins have been split among GM teams, with Team 18, Matt Stone Racing, and Erebus Motorsport all winning races across the two venues in the last three years, along with former homologation team Triple Eight.

If ever there was a six-race swing to turn their fortunes around, GM couldn't have asked for a better run, however with seven Ford drivers currently sitting inside the Finals bubble, they will have to be on top of their game to get back to the top step.

"Obviously we had the adjustment [in Christchurch]. The idea is they're basically trying to shift the aero balance to match [the Ford Mustang]," said De Pasquale on the Drivers Only podcast.

"It's really confusing, but essentially we're trying to move the aero balance rearwards, take some off the front and put it on the rear to match what you want at a track most times.

"That's what they did a little bit in Christchurch, and then they were essentially evaluating and fine tuning [at Ipswich]."

The Sydney Race 2 winner also admitted that it was hard to validate any potential changes to the aero package at Christchurch owing to the obvious lack of data as a first-time event.

"It's a new track, I didn't know where to go at first. You don't really know," De Pasquale said.

"When I went to QR, you could go, 'Ok, yep,' because you know what to expect in a certain part of a corner.

"There's some differences for sure."

Teammate David Reynolds added: "Allegedly, this is second-hand information, the parity trigger went from 0.3s to 0.19s per 60 seconds, so it did improve but it's still not in the window that it should be."

"They're fine tuning the one from Christchurch. Ideally we would go back identical to what we had last year, which is a lot better, De Pasquale continued.

"The more you deep dive, the more confusing it gets, and it starts making no sense. Hopefully it's a bit better."

Reynolds then reiterated that, "Year-on-year, we've lost a bit of rear stability in the whole corner."

Track action commences in Tasmania on Friday.
