Verstappen gets behind the wheel of Gen3 Supercar in United States
Four-time F1 champ headlines video with Daniel Ricciardo, Arvid Lindblad
Formula 1 star Max Verstappen has driven a Ford Mustang Supercar as part of a special Ford celebration video.
As teased on Wednesday, 71-time Grand Prix winner Verstappen got behind the wheel of a Gen3 Supercar.
The V8-powered Ford was adorned with a special camo Red Bull Ampol Racing livery, complete with Broc Feeney's name and number, ahead of Triple Eight Race Engineering's move to the Blue Oval from 2026.
Verstappen, whose Red Bull Racing F1 team will partner with Ford from 2026, headlined a 'F1 Drivers Race 100 Years of Cars' video with incoming rookie Arvid Lindblad.
The video, which also features former Australian F1 star Daniel Ricciardo, saw F1 drivers handed the keys to more than a century of Ford racing history.

Available to watch Red Bull’s YouTube channel, the video sees Verstappen go toe-to-toe with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls rookie Lindblad in a series of acceleration and handling battles.
Verstappen drove the Ford Fiesta WRC, the all-electric F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, and the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC in a series of challenges before getting in the Supercar.
Verstappen himself actually selected the Gen3 Mustang for the final challenge. Ricciardo, who drove previous generation Supercars in 2016 and 2019, quipped that Verstappen's choice would be a "little squirrely... a little bit more Aussie power."
Lindblad lined up in the 2025 Mustang GT3, with the duo going head-to-head across two flying laps.
On the Supercar drive, Verstappen beamed: "I had a lot of fun... I was just smiling."
He then teased Ricciardo, saying: "You need to have a go... just put a race suit on."
Verstappen teased the drive in a social media video published on Wednesday, and also hinted at interest in a future cameo in the Bathurst 1000.
Red Bull Racing itself teased at the Dutchman starting the Great Race, publishing a series of photos of Verstappen in the Supercar, with the caption, "Up next... Bathurst."
The 2026 Supercars season commences in Sydney on February 20-22. Tickets are on sale now. International viewers can watch on SuperView.
