Matt Stone Racing confirms final piece of its 2027 puzzle
Jack Le Brocq to remain at Queensland team next season
Le Brocq qualified for Supercars Finals in 2026
Matt Stone Racing has officially announced that 2026 Finalist Jack Le Brocq will remain with the team in 2027.
Two-time Supercars race winner Le Brocq rejoined the team this season after a two-year stint at Erebus Motorsport, and has been a model of consistency through the season.
Although finishing no higher than fourth in any race this season, Le Brocq secured the 10th and last berth in the Finals, and was eliminated on the Gold Coast.
However, after team owner Matt Stone teased continuity with his driver line-up at Ipswich, it's now been officially confirmed, following Thursday's announcement that Zach Bates had extended on a multi-year deal.
“Reuniting with Matt and the team at MSR has been amazing. There were a lot of familiar faces in the garage but just as many new ones, which shows just how quickly the team grew in my short time away,” Le Brocq said.
“We’ve achieved some major goals in 2026, but there’s still plenty more we want to accomplish. Having that continuity heading into next year is a big positive, and I’m excited to keep working with the team, build on what we’ve started and see what we can achieve in 2027.”
Though they haven't yet hit the race-winning heights of seasons past, it's still been a big season for MSR, highlighted by Bates' stunning pole position and podium at Bathurst.
The team have also expanded operations in 2026, returning to the DUNLOP Super2 Series as a two-car operation, while also entering Trans Am and TA2 competition.
Amid the expansions, Stone declared the renewal of Le Brocq was key to continued growth: “Continuity is incredibly important in a team environment, and retaining both Jack and Zach is a crucial step in our development.
“We’ve made a lot of changes and investments across the business this year, with people taking on new responsibilities and the team continuing to grow across multiple categories.
"Through all of that, Jack and Zach have shown exactly what they bring to this team, and we’ve started to see what this group is capable of delivering when everything comes together.
"We know there’s more performance to unlock, and keeping this driver lineup together gives us the stability to keep pushing forward and deliver the results we know the entire team is capable of. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but we’re only just getting started.”
Le Brocq is 11th in the championship following the opening race of the Penrite Oil Sandown 500, while Matt Stone Racing are eighth in teams' points.
