2026 Supercars Finals Series begins to take shape
Up to five drivers clinched their berths in Sprint Cup finale
Broc Feeney won Sprint Cup in dramatic scenes
Up to five drivers have clinched their berths in the 2026 Repco Supercars Finals Series at the first possible opportunity at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440.
Broc Feeney is the headline act, sealing an automatic berth through the Finals with an extraordinary victory on Sunday, claiming 25 bonus points to take to the first Elimination Final on the Gold Coast.
Matt Payne could only watch, as he was sidelined with an engine drama, but there was a silver lining as he qualified on points following Saturday's action.
Regardless of what occurs in the Ryco Enduro Cup, Feeney and Payne will feature in the Finals, and three other drivers are a good chance of already joining them.
Provided the Ryco Enduro Cup winner comes from within the top 10 in points, Brodie Kostecki, Cam Waters, and Kai Allen have also mathematically qualified for the Finals.
However, in the event that a driver from outside the top 10 in points wins the Enduro Cup, none of the Ford trio are quite home yet, with ninth-placed Ryan Wood within 600 points.
While not a likely scenario given how competitive the front of the field is, it's certainly not impossible for drivers outside the 10 to make an enduro run. Cooper Murray finished second in last year's Enduro Cup having entered 23rd in points, and David Reynolds after running 18th in the Sprint Cup.
As it stands, a swarm of drivers could secure their Finals berths at The Bend, with Anton De Pasquale and Will Brown also a good chance of locking in on points in South Australia.
That could leave as few as three Finals berths up for grabs in the final round of the regular season at the Repco Bathurst 1000, which delivered plenty of twists and turns in the Finals battle a year ago.
The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship continues at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend from September 11-13.
