Kai Allen cleared of impeding, keeps Ipswich position
Allen investigated over alleged incident with Jackson Walls
Penrite Racing driver to start third for Sunday's race
Kai Allen will keep his original Race 28 grid position after being cleared of impeding.
Allen had secured provisional pole position during Boost Mobile Qualifying, but his efforts were overshadowed by news of the investigation.
The South Aussie went on to qualify third in the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, behind Red Bull Ampol Racing teammates Will Brown and Broc Feeney.
But after looking into the matter, and speaking to both drivers, Motorsport Australia stewards decided that no further action was necessary.
Per the stewards report, both drivers were on push laps, and that cars ahead of Allen had slowed heading into Turn 6.
The stewards report reads: "The Stewards summoned and heard from the Drivers of Cars 11 and 26 and their Authorised Representatives, the DSD and the DSA.
"The Stewards viewed broadcast vision and in-car vision from Car 11. The viewed vision showed that Car 11 was at the rear of a train of Cars approaching Turn 6. Car 26 was immediately in front of Car 11. Both Car 11 and Car 26 were on push laps. Approaching Turn 6 Car 26 slowed as Cars in front had slowed. The progress of Car 11 was slowed by a combination of circumstances for which neither Car 26 nor any other Car was wholly or predominantly responsible.
"The Stewards therefore decide to take no further action."
The Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 finale will commence at 3:20pm local time.
