David Reynolds, Ryan Wood smashed by post-race penalties
Reynolds made contact with Cameron Hill, given five-second penalty
Wood found at fault for incident that sent James Golding into a spin
David Reynolds and Ryan Wood's Race 27 efforts have been undone by post-race penalties.
Team 18 veteran Reynolds and Walkinshaw TWG Racing driver Wood were classified in eighth and 14th in Saturday's race, which was won by Will Brown.
However, incidents for both drivers on lap 30 are set to send them tumbling down the order in the final classification. In the final classification, Reynolds and Wood have been reclassified in 16th and 23rd.
It was a rollercoaster for Reynolds, who was turned around by PremiAir Racing rookie Jayden Ojeda in the opening stint. Reynolds was pulled into the lane for his stop under Safety Car conditions, and climbed up the order.
In the closing laps, Reynolds battled with Cameron Hill for 13th. Broadcast vision caught the #20 Snowy River Caravans Camaro making contact with the rear of Hill's Toyota into Turn 6 on lap 30.
Per the stewards report, Reynolds claimed he intended to redress the move, but was unable to do so given other cars were close behind. That wasn't enough to prevent Reynolds being penalised to the tune of five seconds.
The stewards report reads: "The Stewards summoned and heard from the Drivers of Cars 20 and 14 and their Authorised Representatives, the DRD and the DSA.
"The Stewards viewed broadcast vision and in-car vision from Car 20. The vision showed Car 20 contacted the rear of Car 14 in Turn 6, causing Car 14 to run wide and lose position to Car 20. The Driver of Car 20 stated his intention was to give the position back was unable to do so due to other Cars.
"The Stewards consider this driving conduct amounts to a breach of the Rules and impose a penalty consistent with previous breaches of a similar nature."
Two corners earlier, Wood was fighting for seventh with James Golding and Anton De Pasquale. Golding was sent into a spin, and dropped from seventh to the rear. Golding was classified 21st, with De Pasquale 10th and Wood 14th.
After an investigation, which saw Wood, Golding and De Pasquale all summoned, Motorsport Australia advised Wood had been hit with a 15-second penalty.
The report reads: "The Stewards reviewed broadcast vision and in-car vision from Car 2 and Car 18 in conjunction with the DSA and in the presence of the Drivers of each of Car 2, Car 7 and Car 18 and the Team Representatives.
"The vision shows numerous Cars including Car 2, Car 7 and Car 18 approaching Turn 4 on Lap 30. Approaching the turn, Car 7 was ahead of Car 18 which was ahead of Car 2. Car 2 attempted to pass Car 18 on the inside line. Car 18 left sufficient room on the inside for Car 2. The Driver of Car 2 momentarily lost control of the rear of his Car which caused Car 2 to collide with Car 18 which, in turn, caused Car 18 to collide with Car 7. Both of Car 7 and Car 18 lost multiple positions as a result.
"The Stewards consider this driving conduct amounts to a breach of the Rules and impose a penalty consistent with previous breaches of a similar nature."
The penalties the latest in a line of decisions handed down on Saturday. Notably, Dick Johnson Racing was penalised over an unsafe release in the earlier race, with Kai Allen also penalised over a clash with Chaz Mostert.
The Reynolds and DJR penalties have again changed the teams' points battle between Team 18 and DJR. Heading into Sunday, Team 18 leads DJR by just 15 points.
Ironically, Wood's margin to 11th placed Golding has extended, albeit by three points to 163.
