First look at Oscar Piastri/Supercars crossover revealed
Piastri drove Gen3 Ford Supercar at Calder Park this week
Special crossover facilitated by Monster Energy
Oscar Piastri has offered a sneak peek into his crossover with Supercars, which featured two Gen3 Ford Mustangs and Tickford Racing star Cam Waters.
Piastri confirmed Wednesday that he got behind the wheel of a Supercar, becoming the latest Formula 1 star to drive Aussie V8 machinery.
Released on the morning of the first day of track action in Melbourne, vision and stills have shed light on what went down at Calder Park earlier this week.
The crossover was brought to life by Monster Energy, which sponsors Piastri and carries naming rights on Waters' Tickford Mustang Supercar.
Also featured at Calder Park were drift stars Steve 'Baggsy' Biagioni and Kyle Douglas, with Piastri also sampling their vehicles.
What made the crossover so unique, was that Piastri had a Gen3 Ford Supercar of his own, in plain Monster colours with the driver's 'OP' logo emblazoned across the car.
Waters, meanwhile, took to his own car, which hit the track this morning at Albert Park in what is a bust day of Supercars action.
The two-time Bathurst 1000 winner further teased the content to come at a media call announcing Supercars' extension with the Australian Grand Prix this morning, stating that Piastri was immediately on the pace.
"It was cool, it was his first time he's driven a tin top race car.
"For me, I was a bit blown away that he even said that, but we got in, had a lot of fun, and you'll see the vision over the weekend.
"I was pretty happy he looked after my race car, because I need that this weekend, but he got in and he's a natural obviously, and was right up to speed straight away.
Waters further quipped that Piastri could replace Ryco Enduro Cup co-driver Mark Winterbottom should he want to make a Bathurst bid: "I said, 'Mate, if you need something for Bathurst, I've got a co-drive for you, just don't tell Frosty just yet.'"
The week has already featured more F1/Supercars crossovers, with racer turned commentator Jolyon Palmer sampling Anton De Pasquale's Team 18 Camaro on Wednesday.
Daniel Ricciardo also took to Calder Park with Broc Feeney this week, with content set to be released in due course.
Supercars will race on all four days of this weekend's Formula 1 QATAR AIRWAYS Australian Grand Prix 2026.
