Ford reveals Supercars/Dakar crossover with Feeney, Ricciardo

The latest Formula 1/Supercars crossover has seen Broc Feeney and Daniel Ricciardo share Supercar and Dakar machinery.

Revealed on Thursday, Supercars star Feeney caught up with F1 winner turned Ford ambassador Ricciardo in a special shoot at Calder Park.

There, Feeney and Ricciardo took part in a promotional stunt organised and posted to social media by Ford, featuring two very different beasts.

Feeney’s #88 Red Bull Ampol Gen3 Ford Mustang Supercar was pitted against Ford’s Dakar Rally M-Sport Raptor T1+ in the Calder challenge.

Ricciardo also got behind the wheel of the Gen3 Supercar, adding to his list of Supercars experiences.

The eight-time F1 Grand Prix winner drove Triple Eight’s Holden ’Sandman’ in 2016 at Sandown, and also steered a Kelly Racing Nissan Altima at Calder in 2019.

Ricciardo also drove a Gen3 Ford Mustang in 2023.

It comes after Oscar Piastri drove a Tickford Mustang Supercar at the venue in a crossover organised by Monster Energy.

The Feeney/Ricciardo stunt also featured some special guests, with Australian DJ FISHER and snowboard star Scotty James also trackside.

FISHER, who also featured in a Red Bull challenge with 2024 Supercars champion Will Brown earlier this week, waved the chequered flag in the video.
