Just five rounds remain until the 10 drivers who will contest the 2026 Repco Supercars Finals Series are decided, and there are some big names who are still fighting just to get in.
Darwin provided yet more twists in the tale of the season, with huge swings in the fight for the Repco Sprint Cup, which comes with an automatic Finals berth, as well as the fight around the back end of the 10.
It was a physically demanding weekend in Darwin, which saw two drivers unable to take the start on Sunday, and placing big dents in their respective campaigns.
Supercars.com look at the winners and losers in the Finals battle following the betr Darwin Triple Crown.
Winner: Cam Waters
This was the weekend Cam Waters needed. Qualifying for the Finals was never going to be a concern for the #6 Ford, however going in as a race winner is undoubtedly a better position to be in, with wins so crucial in Finals. After such a tough start to the season, walking away with three top three finishes, two pole positions, and the Darwin Triple Crown could be the launching point of a title assault. Waters also jumped to third in points.
Loser: Chaz Mostert
The reigning champion continues to flirt with danger in a season of triumphant highs and painful lows. The Darwin weekend told the story of his season in the space of three days, with brilliant recovery drives to seventh and sixth in the first two races cancelled out by his spectacular engine failure on Sunday. On a weekend where he looked set to move further clear of the bubble, he has now slipped closer to Jack Le Brocq in 11th.
Winner: Matt Payne
Just as Broc Feeney looked to be stealing a march on the Repco Sprint Cup once again, Matt Payne is now right back in contention. Two podiums and a fourth, on a weekend where Feeney only broke into the top five in the final race, has seen a 90-point deficit slashed to just 15, and if it wasn't for a Saturday jump start or a slight miscue in pit lane on Sunday, it could be a different story. This battle will rage on.
Loser: Thomas Randle
In the most unfortunate of circumstances, Thomas Randle finds himself staring down the barrel. A cool suit failure on Saturday took it's toll on the driver of the #55 Castrol Mustang, with the decision ultimately being made for him to sit out the finale after qualifying the car on Sunday. For the first time all year, Randle now finds himself over 200 points away from the bubble, with time slowly beginning to run out the closer we get to the Bathurst cut off.
Winner: Anton De Pasquale
Had it not been for being spun in the final race of the season-opening Sydney 500, Anton De Pasquale could very well be third in points. His Sunday win was a major boost for not only himself, but also Team 18 and Chevrolet as a whole, and re-affirmed that when they're firing they are well in the hunt. De Pasquale is still sixth in the standings, and now just 66 points behind Waters in third.
Loser: Brodie Kostecki
Whilst not as catastrophic as Randle's non-start, Brodie Kostecki's withdrawal from Sunday undid a weekend where he was surging back into the frame for the Repco Sprint Cup. Any chance of stealing the Repco Sprint Cup at the death is now likely gone, as he has fallen to fourth in points, and 203 points off Broc Feeney.
