Damaged cars all set for New Zealand after Melbourne crash
Feeney, Murray Bates cars all affected in dramatic Turn 1 pile-up
Feeney car suffered front and rear damage in double impact
Triple Eight Race Engineering, Erebus Motorsport and Matt Stone Racing are all full steam ahead on repairs to their cars ahead of the upcoming trip to New Zealand.
The cars of Broc Feeney, Cooper Murray and Zach Bates were all damaged in a dramatic Turn 1 pile-up at the start of last weekend's Melbourne finale.
Feeney spun into the path of the two Camaros, with Murray first hitting the rear of the Red Bull Ampol Ford, which ricocheted into Bates' car.
All three drivers walked away from the incident, with their cars returning to the paddock after the race.
From there, Triple Eight and MSR packed up and returned to base in Queensland, while Erebus returned across Melbourne to their Dandenong South headquarters.
After returning back home, teams only had five days to fix their cars before they are required for the sea freight mission to New Zealand.
After a short week of rapid repairs, all three drivers will remain in the same cars that raced in Melbourne.
Erebus and MSR confirmed to Supercars.com that their respective Camaros sustained front clip damage, with the engines and chassis emerging unscathed.
On the championship front, the incident was a killer blow to both Murray and Bates, who were also caught up in a series of incidents across the weekend.
Notably, rookie Bates struck trouble before Turn 4 on the opening lap of each of the four races. Murray, meanwhile, was twice taken out at Turn 11.
In a brief statement, Erebus Team Manager Dean Orr lamented his drivers being "caught up" in on-track drama.
"There's not a lot you can say about our misfortunes at AGP," Orr said.
"The whole team at Erebus Motorsport is pushing forward to improve every round. We had fewer issues than we did in Sydney, but unfortunately were caught up in a few racing incidents."
Feeney, meanwhile, suffered his first DNF since Gold Coast 2022, and lost the championship lead to Dick Johnson Racing rival Brodie Kostecki.
Feeney, Bates and Murray are third, 22nd and 24th in the championship heading to New Zealand.
