Bend hails 'greatest touring car collection ever assembled'

A series of iconic Australian touring cars will be on display at the upcoming AirTouch 500 at The Bend.

Announced by The Bend, fans have the chance to get up close and personal with 11 special cars, in what is termed as the 'Touring Car Icons' display.

The cars will sit in The Bend Motorsport Park’s Welcome Centre across the September 11-13 race weekend, which opens the Ryco Enduro Cup.

The 11 cars span the Group C, Group A, 5.0L V8 Supercars and current Gen3 Supercars eras.

Cars have been paired together to celebrate certain eras or moments in time, such as Mark Skaife and Russell Ingall’s infamous ’Shriek at the Creek’ cars from 2003.

Peter Brock and Craig Lowndes will be celebrated in a ‘Master and Apprentice’ display with a Torana A9X and Commodore VT.

Chaz Mostert’s Dick Johnson Racing Ford Falcon — which he raced to his maiden win in 2013 — and his 2025 championship-winning Ford Mustang will also be on display.

The display will be unveiled at next weekend’s MotorRacing 360 episode on Wednesday September 9. Fans can view the cars via a grandstand ticket (or higher).

Track action at The Bend commences on Friday September 11.
