Supercars adds brake test session for The Bend
Teams permitted to bed brakes on Friday of event
Track action commences on Friday September 11
Supercars has added an additional track session to the AirTouch 500 at The Bend schedule.
The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship hits Ryco Enduro Cup mode at The Bend Motorsport Park from September 11-13.
Confirmed in the Further Supplementary Regulations for the event, a dedicated session has been added to the Friday schedule to bed new brakes.
Supercars and teams identified discrepancies in brake batches for the recent Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 at Queensland Raceway, which was followed by an all-in enduro test day.
A new batch of brakes has been manufactured and will be freighted to Tailem Bend, where teams have been permitted to bed the new brakes in an untimed 20-minute session on Friday morning.
The session has been scheduled for 8:15am local time, ahead of Practice 1 at 11:25am.
Supercars will be on track for three 30-minute practice sessions on Friday September 11, with Practice 2 dedicated to co-drivers.
The field returns for two more practice sessions on Saturday — the first of which is also dedicated to co-drivers — ahead of Boost Mobile Qualifying and the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout.
Sunday’s action commences with a 20-minute Warm Up session, before the 147-lap race kicks off at 1:45pm.
