Triple Eight withdraws Jackson Walls Commodore after Adelaide crash
Walls suffered suspected steering failure early in Practice 1 on Thursday
Triple Eight driver was top rookie, best-placed Holden driver in fifth overall
Jackson Walls' 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series campaign has come to an early end, following a crash in opening practice at the bp Adelaide Grand Final.
The Triple Eight Race Engineering driver crashed in the early minutes of Practice 1, causing a red flag.
Walls suffered a suspected steering failure entering Turn 13, which sent the #11 Holden Commodore into the concrete on driver's left.
The rising star walked away from the accident, but speaking on the broadcast as Practice 2 commenced, Walls said he was “probably pulling out” of the weekend.
Walls was leading the rookie charge, and was the best-placed Holden driver in fifth overall heading into the weekend.
“Something failed in the front end of the car going into Turn 13 and I was pretty much a passenger from the turn-in point,” Walls explained.
“Pretty unfortunate. We’re probably pulling out for the rest of the weekend.
“Super disappointing to end the weekend like this, but I’ll be supporting [Ben Gomersall, teammate] and hopefully he secures the rookie championship."
Triple Eight later confirmed to Supercars.com that the #11 has been sidelined for the remainder of the weekend.
When asked about his condition, Walls added: “All fine on my end. It’s just upsetting really.”
Walls will step up to the Repco Supercars Championship next season with Triple Eight, driving an SCT Logistics-backed Ford Mustang.
