As 2025 winds down, Supercars.com is ranking the top 10 drivers of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship, starting with Cam Waters, who comes in as our #9.
Cam Waters started 2025 on absolute fire. With that form came the obvious question: "Is this his year?"
As it turned out, the Tickford Racing driver didn't win again, nor did he claim another pole. However, he kept fighting through to the very end, with a difficult Semi Final ending his title hopes before Adelaide.
Still, Waters showed plenty of fight, but he wasn't the complete package in 2025, nor was Tickford. If driver and team improves in 2026, there's no reason he can't be there on the final day in Adelaide.

Why we picked him
Waters is box office, both when he's on, and when he has the bit between his teeth.
You know you're going to get something worth watching when the Monster Mustang is in the fight. That night in Sydney will forevermore live in the memory, and for Waters fans, be grateful it was your man.
He's an entertainer, and loves throwing his Ford around. When the speed isn't quite there, he'll get his elbows out, although sometimes, that's to his detriment.
Still, he's one of the best out there, even though 2025 fell away for him.
What we expect next season
It's season No. 11 for Waters in 2026. At some stage, the tide has to turn. He's too good a driver to retire without a championship or Bathurst win.
If there's any solace for Waters, it's that old mate Chaz Mostert finally broke through for his first title at age 33. That's by no means old, but when you've been in this game for this long, you'll start to get sick of the defeats.
It's an early call, but if Waters qualifies for the 2026 Grand Final, his brash style could almost certainly deliver him the championship he craves.
