Tickford Autosport have strengthened their position at the top of the 2025 Dunlop Super Series teams' championship by virtue of Lochie Dalton's flawless weekend in Townsville.

Having soared to the top of the table following a historic round podium sweep at Round 2 in Tasmania, the Campbellfield squad created more history on Saturday in Townsville.

Dalton was followed home by teammates Reuben Goodall, Rylan Gray, and Nash Morris in the opening 40-minute race of the weekend, marking the first time in any tier of Supercars that a team has locked out the top four in a race.

The above order was also the final order in round points, creating yet more history, and allowing Tickford's driver development squad to open their advantage up by a whopping 150 points at the end of the weekend.

Eggleston Motorsport endured a nightmare weekend in North Queensland, only recording one top ten finish between their five cars all weekend courtesy of a gritty drive by reigning champion Zach Bates on Sunday.

As a result, the twice defending teams champions have now slipped to third in the standings entering the second half of the season, six points behind Triple Eight Race Engineering.

Who scored points in Townsville?

Dalton's perfect 300-point weekend was supported by double podiums for Goodall and Gray, as well as two top seven finishes for Morris, which saw Tickford score 93 more points in the teams' points battle than the next best team.

Erebus Motorsport's Jobe Stewart claimed a strong fifth for the round with 207 points, whilst Image Racing stablemate Jarrod Hughes also found his way back into front-running form on Saturday on his way to ninth for the round with 156 points.

Jackson Walls claimed rookie of the round honours with 201 points for the weekend, with his haul enough to see Triple Eight leap into second ahead of Eggleston Motorsport, who only gathered 144 points in Townsville thanks to Bates.

Blanchard Racing Team and Walkinshaw Andretti United both gained 171 points thanks to strong weekends for Bailey Sweeny and Campbell Logan, whilst there were tales of misfortune for Brad Jones Racing, Ryan McLeod Racing Cars, and Anderson Motorsport.

A tyre failure and gearbox failure for Brad Vaughan and Cameron McLeod on Saturday saw their respective teams limited to just 129 and 120 points respectively, whilst a double retirement for Ayrton Hodson saw Ryan Tomsett's 108-point haul drop Anderson to the foot of the standings.

Round 4 of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series will be held at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 from August 8-10. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
