After a breakthrough weekend at the opening round of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series, Eggleston Motorsport's Jordyn Sinni is confident that his form can translate into a title challenge.

Entering his third season in the development series, Sinni was the only constant in an off-season of change for the twice defending Super2 teams' champions as they expanded from four cars to five.

Among the changes included the arrival of the 2024 champions from both tiers of the Dunlop Series, namely Super2 champion Zach Bates and Super3 champion Cody Burcher.

Sinni has still had the assistance of one of his former teammates in the gap between rounds, which saw Eggleston Motorsport complete a test day at Winton.

Penrite Racing Supercars recruit Kai Allen, who drove alongside Sinni in each of the past two seasons, including his historic 2023 Super2 Series victory, was on hand at the rural Winton venue, as Sinni revealed to Supercars.com.

"Our test day at Winton was pretty cool. Unfortunately I didn't get to spend the day with Dan my engineer, but I went over a few things with Kai Allen who was obviously in the team last year and is a very good mate of mine," Sinni revealed to Supercars.com.

Despite counting both of last year's Dunlop Series champions as new teammates, alongside rookie Bradi Owen and sophomore Elliott Cleary, it was Sinni who starred at Sydney Motorsport Park, achieving a long-term career goal in the process.

"It's a very cool feeling seeing the orange numbers on the car when I saw it down at Eggleston's a few weeks after Round 1," he said.

"When the orange number was getting put on I thought, 'Yeah, this is pretty cool.' It's always been a dream to race Super2, and I think to finally get my first race and round win, and the orange number on the car is definitely something special."

The former Formula Ford racer has never before raced at Symmons Plains in any category, one of nine drivers in the field to have never raced at the circuit, and has called upon Tickford Supercars star Thomas Randle through his preparations.

"There's a lot of sim work, a lot of researching in my study just going over highlights from 2018 onwards, just watching small snippets of [Shane] van Gisbergen back in the day, and a couple of qualifying sims," Sinni said.

"The sim work is pretty big, so I've been spending a lot of time down at Tom Randle's on his sim, and just doing whatever I can at home on mine.

"It's been pretty busy over the last few weeks, but when you've got eight or nine weeks in between, you've got all the time in your hands.

"I've done quite a few laps in the sim, and it seems very tight, so I think qualifying is going to be very important as it always is in Super2.

"I think especially just because there's realistically only three corners, and two of them are passing opportunities."

Sinni isn't feeling the pressure of being the series leader, and insisted that he doesn't feel like the orange numbers put a target on his back after two races of a 12 race season, replying, "I don't think so.

"I feel like still being so early in the year, there's not just three title contenders, I feel like there's a lot of people in the Super2 field who are very good and are yet to show their potential.

"So I don't feel like it's a direct target on my back, I feel like there's quite a few people that have still got a bit to show.

"I feel like our goal will be to have the orange numbers on the car for the rest of the year, but as you know Super2 is pretty crazy and anything can happen.

"I feel like if we can just keep it clean, stay consistent at Tassie, and just be somewhere up the front, I've got no doubt we can keep it going to Townsville."

On-track action for Round 2 of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series begins on Friday at the Snowy River Caravans Tasmania Super 440, with Practice 1 beginning at 9:25am AEST. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
