Supercars can confirm four photographers are in a stable condition following an incident at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.
Four photographers required medical attention, and will be transported to hospital for further assessment
The statement reads:
Following Brodie Kostecki’s high-speed crash into a tyre wall during Saturday’s Qualifying Session, Supercars can confirm that four photographers required medical attention.
Two photographers sustained ankle injuries, one suffered an elbow injury, and a fourth received a head injury. All four are alert, talking, very stable, and will be transported to hospital for further assessment. All are in a stable condition.
Motorsport Australia has implemented changes to photographer access in that area for the remainder of the event.
Supercars extends its thanks to the volunteers, officials and medical crews for their swift and professional response.
Penrite Racing's Matt Payne claimed provisional pole ahead of this afternoon's Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, whilst Kostecki had qualified 16th.
The Shootout is scheduled to begin at 12:35pm local time/1:35pm AEDT, before Race 28 begins at 3:15pm local time/4:15pm AEDT.
