Broc Feeney makes major title statement with final pole of 2025
Feeney claims 19th pole of 2025, to share front row with Matt Payne
Chaz Mostert fourth, Will Brown eighth, Kai Allen ninth
The stage is set for a sensational Sunday title decider, with points leader Broc Feeney making a major statement with the final Boost Mobile Pole of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship.
The Red Bull Ampol Racing star, who holds a 23-point lead over Walkinshaw Andretti United rival Chaz Mostert, claimed a record-extending 19th pole of the season to put himself in the box seat for the crown.
Mostert, though, moved from seventh in qualifying to fourth in the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, with Matt Payne and Ryan Wood slotting in behind Feeney. Title hopefuls Will Brown and Kai Allen ended up eighth and ninth.
"Of course there's pressure, but how awesome to get another pole," said Feeney, who completed a sweep of Adelaide poles.
"Three from three this weekend is outstanding, so I can't thank this crew enough. Definitely the most important pole position of my life, and a great time to do it.
"This thing's been a rocket, I was pretty happy with the lap, knew it was going to be pretty hard to beat.
"The Pole Award for this year is fantastic, to think there are 19 is incredible. I'm chuffed to walk away with another pole on a pretty important day."
On a track bathed in sunshine, Allen laid down a 1:20.7694s, before PremiAir Racing recruit Jayden Ojeda pieced together a 1:20.7815s.
2024 Adelaide 500 winner Brown, who hadn't claimed a pole since Tasmania in May, then nailed a 1:20.3985s to put the rest of the Shootout field on notice. However, the next statement was made by rival Mostert, who nailed a 1:19.9871s to put 0.4s on Brown's time.
Macauley Jones, though, stayed with Mostert through the first two sectors and jumped ahead of Brown with a 1:20.1562s. BJR teammate Andre Heimgartner caught a slide through Turn 4 and recorded a 1:20.1885s to slot in behind Jones.
De Pasquale, Payne, Feeney and Wood stood between Mostert and a crucial pole. Team 18 driver De Pasquale was line astern through Sector 1, but despite a wild slide through Turn 8, ended up just 0.0115s shy of Mostert.
Bathurst champion Payne was the fastest through Turn 8 to lower the number by 0.22s to a 1:19.7684s, giving Feeney and Wood a big number to chase.
The benchmark driver of 2025 in qualifying, Feeney set off after his 19th pole of the season, and flew through the first two sectors. Despite losing time in the final sector, the #88 lowered the benchmark further to a 1:19.6413s.
Try as he might, Wood fell 0.17s short, completing a Feeney/Payne front row.
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship concludes with Race 34 at 3:15pm local/3:45pm AEST.
