Finals winners and losers: Who qualified, who's on course

Just like that, nine rounds of manic sprint racing are done, and the 2026 season shifts into enduro mode ahead of what is bound to be another blockbuster Finals Series.

And what a way to end the Repco Sprint Cup it was, Queensland Raceway putting on what was quite possibly the race of the season, and delivering the most shocking championship twist yet.

As a result, Broc Feeney walked away with his name on the Sprint Cup for the second time in as many attempts, whilst Matt Payne was left to wonder what could've been.

On a weekend of sensational comebacks and big stumbles from key players around the Finals bubble, Supercars.com picks out the big winners and losers from a wild Ipswich Super 440.

Winner: Red Bull Ampol Racing

Broc Feeney might have pulled off a stunning heist to claim the most unlikely of Repco Sprint Cup titles, but Will Brown deserves his flowers too. Whilst Feeney might have secured the first Golden Ticket to Finals, and 25 bonus points for the Gold Coast, Brown re-established himself as a genuine title contender in his first weekend on a level playing field. Have Triple Eight learned the tough lesson from 2025 to peak at the right time of year?

Loser: Matt Payne

On the other end of the scale, for an engine failure to deny Matt Payne the chance to claim the Sprint Cup was a cruel, and frankly undeserved twist. Whilst it wasn't his best weekend, he was well in control of his destiny before a catastrophic valvetrain failure. Failing to convert two pole positions on Saturday could be a concern, but perhaps more concerning for Penrite Racing was how rapid the Red Bull Ampol Fords were.

Winner: James Golding

What a time to surge back into form. Sunday was an extremely positive day for the entire BRT stable, with two cars in the top 10 in both qualifying and the race. Golding led from the front, and had it not been for an unfortunate collision in Race 27, his gap to the bubble would be a huge 91 points. Alas, 55 points is still very handy, and his combination with Richie Stanaway could be the ultimate wildcard in the Enduro Cup.

Loser: Jack Le Brocq

If Jack Le Brocq didn't have bad luck in Ipswich, he would have had no luck at all. A lack of pace didn't help by any means, but niggling car troubles plagued the weekend in the #4 Sherrin Rentals Chevrolet. To make matters worse, a brake failure pitched enduro ring-in Harri Jones into a high-speed accident at the enduro test. Whilst it's better to have a wobble in a sprint than an enduro, for Le Brocq and MSR, it could've been a season-defining one.

Winner: Brodie Kostecki

A welcome return to the top step of the podium came on a weekend where both team and driver hit their marks. Though he was frustrated by lapped traffic on Sunday, a convincing weekend was an emphatic response to a disappointing one in Perth. Moving back up into third was a just reward, and another strong enduro campaign with Todd Hazelwood could place him right in line for a big boost come Finals time.

Loser: Jayden Ojeda

Another Finals hopeful on the wrong end of a tough weekend for Chevrolet, all of Jayden Ojeda's good work over recent months was wiped out in three gruelling races. Two self-induced spins only compounded the misery, and has left the Sydneysider with it all to do again, though this time over just two races. PremiAir have traditionally come to life in enduro season, and they need to do it more than ever in 2026.
