Supercars launches 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 in Sydney
Highly anticipated reveal of the Toyota GR Supra Supercar
2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 scheduled for October 9-12
With 40 days remaining until new Kings of the Mountain are crowned, Supercars has hosted the official launch of the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 in Sydney in spectacular style.
Chief Executive James Warburton welcomed an impressive gathering of industry leaders, including Chairman Barclay Nettlefold, Supercars Team Owners, some of the superstar drivers competing in this year’s Great Race, key stakeholders from Repco, Toyota, Foxtel and Seven West Media, officials from Destination NSW and Bathurst Regional Council.
During his address, Warburton acknowledged the passionate fanbase that elevates Bathurst as Australia’s premier motorsport spectacle, emphasising the event’s substantial $55 million economic impact on NSW and its remarkable international footprint reaching over 325 million households spanning 128 nations.
The evening included recognition of 2024’s triumphant Erebus Motorsport team - owner Betty Klimenko, CEO Barry Ryan, and champion drivers of the #1 Chiko Chevrolet Camaro, Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazlewood.
A highlight of the evening was an extraordinary performance by the Supercars Symphony - a 36-piece orchestral ensemble that performed several numbers on the night, including a stirring rendition of Nothing Else Matters, a key theme for this year’s Repco Bathurst 1000, one of Australia’s greatest annual sporting events.
The celebration also marked the highly anticipated reveal of the Toyota GR Supra Supercar, as Toyota makes its official entry into the Repco Supercars Championship for 2026, joining the established Ford and Chevrolet manufacturers on the grid.
The Supra will compete with Walkinshaw Andretti United and Brad Jones Racing teams, representing what Warburton termed a “transformational development” for the championship.
Warburton also highlighted Supercars’ landmark broadcasting agreement with Foxtel and Seven West Media, securing championship coverage that will deliver enhanced viewing opportunities for Australian and international audiences alike.
“Toyota brings exceptional international motorsport credentials spanning Le Mans to World Rally Championship competition, and their participation represents a pivotal moment for our championship’s evolution and expansion goals,” Warburton said.
“Tonight, we celebrate announcements that will shape the future of Supercars, from Toyota’s arrival to our landmark broadcast deals – but no matter how far we grow globally, Bathurst remains the beating heart of our sport. There is simply nothing like it anywhere in the world.”
More than 7000 campsites sold out in record time yet again for this year’s journey to the mountain. Tickets including general admission, grandstand and corporate hospitality are still available for the Repco Bathurst 1000 running 9-12 October at Mount Panorama through Supercars.com.
