With Wanneroo set to become the first circuit in ATCC/Supercars history to host 100 championship races next weekend, Supercars.com takes a look at some of the biggest stories and moments from the beloved Perth venue.

Since first hosting the Australian Touring Car Championship in 1973, one driver stands head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to greeting the chequered flag first in Perth.

31 drivers have climbed to the top of the podium, however only one man has done it more than 10 times; Craig Lowndes.

Lowndes' record in Wanneroo is the most dominant record of any driver at any venue in the xx-year history of the Repco Supercars Championship, with Lowndes claiming 16 wins for the Holden Racing Team and Triple Eight.

The seven-time Bathurst winner first raced in Perth in 1996 amid his stellar rookie season with HRT, and claimed a clean sweep of the three races - his third of the season - on his way to a dominant debut title win.

Few could've expected what was to come though, as Lowndes and the HRT's stranglehold on Perth only strengthened as both team and driver became the ultimate Supercars benchmark.

After an ill-fated attempt to break into Formula One in 1997, Lowndes returned to Australia and immediately returned to devastating form, winning the 1998 and 1999 championships.

His dominance in Perth also continued, winning every race held between 1998 and 2000 to extend his Wanneroo winning streak to 12 consecutive races.

The seven-time Bathurst winner added a further four Perth victories to his name between 2009 and 2016 with Triple Eight, the last of which was an inspired charge through the field on an ultra-aggressive tyre strategy.

Such is Lowndes' dominance at Wanneroo, that his 16 wins are double the tally of the next-best driver, his former HRT teammate Mark Skaife, who claimed eight career wins in Perth.

Skaife is also second to Lowndes on the all-time wins list at any one circuit, having claimed 15 career wins at the former Oran Park Raceway in Sydney.
