Thomas Randle vows to race at Sandown with "maximum aggression"

Thomas Randle has vowed to tackle the Sandown Semi Final with “maximum aggression” as he aims to race out of the drop zone for a second time.
Randle, Kai Allen and reigning champion Will Brown are all aiming to jump out of the drop zone and into a bp Adelaide Grand Final berth this weekend.
Broc Feeney, Chaz Mostert, Matt Payne and Cam Waters hold the cards, with 500 kilometres standing between the top seven and a shot at a championship. Given the small points margins, Waters insists "no one's safe."
Randle and Allen both raced out of the bottom three on the Gold Coast, surviving a Sunday clash to book their ticket to Adelaide. Neither driver has a Supercars win to their name, yet are two races away from racing for a championship.
While rookie Allen is keeping his expectations in check, Randle is refusing to go down without a fight.
“We've got nothing to lose,” Randle told Supercars.com on Thursday.
“We're seventh, we're not in the four at the moment. I can't go any further back in the championship, so it's gonna be maximum aggression.
"We've gotta be selfish. I'm sure every other driver in the top seven's gonna say the same. I think you're gonna see some pretty exciting racing this weekend.
“Qualifying, it's all gonna start with that. Got to nail that and then just have to execute, no mistakes. The points are so tight now. Obviously if you win, you're in, which is a lot easier said than done.
“If we got into that final four in Adelaide, that would be pretty amazing.”
Sitting seventh, Randle has the longest odds to make Adelaide, and knows top fives won’t be good enough. Rather, Randle insisted silverware is his ticket to glory, with the Victorian “very hungry” to end his victory drought with a massive Sandown win.
"Top fives, I don't think they're gonna be enough this weekend. Minimum, try get on the podium at least one race. And then, like I said, win and you're in, right,” the Tickford Racing star continued.
“But I'm not underestimating the competition, it's just ultra competitive. Everyone stepped it up this year.
“We don't wanna wish any misfortune on anyone, but we just need to do our job. I need to do my job. And I guess we'll see where we end up.”
Randle will race a Larry Perkins-inspired Castrol livery this weekend. Track action commences at 1:30pm local time.
