New team set to join Dunlop Super2 Series for 2026

A new team is aiming to join the Dunlop Super2 Series grid for 2026.

99motorsport, headed by Marcus LaDelle and based on the Central Coast, north of Sydney, has confirmed a deal to lease a pair of Triple Eight-built ZB Commodores for its step into the Supercars feeder series.

It intends to run a two-car operation and is currently working on arrangements with drivers to fill the seats. The team will source its pair of cars from PremiAir Racing owner Peter Xiberras.

LaDelle’s squad is set to have the use of 888A-044, the chassis last raced in Adelaide by Cameron McLeod in Super2 last year, and 888A-041, a former VF Commodore converted to ZB specification by Triple Eight last off-season.

The latter chassis won the Dunlop Super2 Series in the hands of Todd Hazelwood with Matt Stone Racing in 2017 in VF specification. It last raced in the season-ending Dunlop Series round in Adelaide in 2022 in the hands of Aaron Seton, also in VF spec.

“Peter and I have been friends for a while and I tried valiantly to get this program together for this season but it didn’t come to fruition at the time,” LaDelle said this week.

“But we sat down and looked at it again for next year and we’re a goer. Peter has made this all happen; I owe it all to him to make these cars available.

“It’s going to be a full customer program, we’ll be working with drivers who are bringing their racing budgets.

“It’s been a lot of work but it’s now coming to fruition. It’s always been my intent and dream to have a pathway program under one roof where a kid can come from karts, Scholarship Series into GR Cup and onto Super2.

“It’s been a long road to put together this pathway but we’re there.”

99motorsport has had a busy season in 2025, between running a pair of Mustangs in the Monochrome GT4 Series, five cars in the Toyota GR Cup and multiple Toyota 86s in the Scholarship Series.

LaDelle says he would ideally like to get his hands on at least one Supercar before the end of the season with the intention to do a handover day before Christmas.

He’s no stranger to the Dunlop Series either having raced in the 2006 series in a Dick Johnson Racing-run Falcon AU.
