Practice 3 commences at 10:05am AEDT on Friday morning
Matt Shirvington has turned the tables on David Reynolds to clinch victory in a man versus machine race at the Repco Bathurst 1000.
Back in February, renowned sprinter turned Sunrise TV host Shirvington was defeated by Team 18 veteran Reynolds in a photo finish on the Sydney Motorsport Park pit straight.
On Friday morning at Mount Panorama, Shirvington got one over Reynolds in another close finish.
Shirvington is the third-fastest Australian sprinter ever, and as was the cade in Sydney, he got away to a flyer.
On this occasion, Shirvington sealed the deal, with the victory decided in another photo finish.
Shirvington held the Australian 100-metre national sprint title from 1998 to 2002.
"Do you know what guys, you know that Broncos Grand Final? I feel like Ben Hunt. This is redemption," Shirvington joked on the Sunrise broadcast.
"I didn't have to wait 10 years, but I had to wait long enough to finally get the edge over the the Bathurst champion."
Reynolds will return to the track for Practice 3 at the Repco Bathurst 1000 at 10:05am AEDT.
