Sydney hat-trick hero Cam Waters 178 points above cut line
Andre Heimgartner currently in all-important 10th position
11th-placed Jack Le Brocq four points behind Heimgartner
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship is underway, and with it, the chase for a spot in the Finals.
Introduced in 2025, the Finals Series will see the top 10 drivers on points progress into elimination-style races to decide the winner of this year's drivers' championship.
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will be held over 34 races across 13 rounds, in three different segments: Sprint Cup, Enduro Cup, and the Finals.
The Sprint Cup is the first eight rounds, which are comprised of 25 races. The Enduro Cup is comprised of the Tailem Bend and Bathurst events, while the Finals is a three-round, seven-race fight for the title.
Finals for the 2025 championship occur post-Bathurst over the last three rounds at the Gold Coast, Sandown and Adelaide.
Only 10 drivers will be eligible for the Finals based on championship points from the regular season, which is all 27 races up to and including Bathurst, and 'Cup' winning eligibility.
What does that mean? Simply, the winners of the Sprint Cup and the Enduro Cup each have automatic entry into the Finals, and receive 25 bonus points to start the first round of the Finals with.
After Sydney, Tickford Racing's hat-trick hero Cam Waters has a commanding lead in the standings, and is also 178 points above the cut line.
Importantly, all 10 drivers in the Finals have their championship points reset, with standings from the regular season then defining the regular season bonus points. As it stands, Waters would earn a buffer by winning the Repco Sprint Cup.
In contrast, PremiAir Racing's James Golding is two points ahead of Brad Jones Racing's 10th-placed Andre Heimgartner, who drivers from 11th to 24th are chasing.
Erebus Motorsport driver Jack Le Brocq, Blanchard Racing Team veteran James Courtney and second-year Brad Jones Racing driver Jaxon Evans are all closest to Heimgartner.
BRT driver Aaron Love and PremiAir Racing recruit Richie Stanaway, meanwhile, are 82 and 95 points behind Heimgartner respectively.
For the purposes of this exercise, Matt Stone Racing wildcard Cameron Crick has been omitted, given only primary drivers are eligible for the Finals.

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the Melbourne SuperSprint, which will feature at the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025 on March 13-16.
