Dick Johnson Racing confirms expanded agreement with Ford
Queensland team has won 10 drivers' titles, four Bathursts with Ford
Triple Eight joining Ford in 2026, nominated as homologation team
Dick Johnson Racing has confirmed an expanded agreement with its existing long-term partner, Ford.
On Thursday, the Queensland-based squad took the covers off its new-look Shell V-Power Racing Team livery for the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship.
The team also formally unveiled Brodie Kostecki as a DJR driver, complete with his new #38, with the 2023 Supercars champion joining two-time Bathurst winner Will Davison.
In a win for Ford and the team's long-time fans, DJR also revealed it has extended its relationship with Ford, which has been represented by the team in the Australian Touring Car Championship/Supercars for over 40 years.
Eponymous team owner Johnson won five drivers' championships and three Bathurst 1000s between 1981 and 1994, with John Bowe (1995), James Courtney (2010) and Scott McLaughlin (2018-20) also winning titles with DJR.
The Ford extension comes just days after Triple Eight Race Engineering announced a blockbuster switch to Ford from 2026. Triple Eight has also been nominated by Ford to become the brand's homologation team, subject to a vote by teams.
However, DJR will remain in the Blue Oval family for the foreseeable future, with Team Principal Dr Ryan Story saying the historic squad is closing on the "longest sponsorship agreement" between DJR and Ford.
“Today, as we commence the campaign for our record 45th season in the Repco Supercars Championship, we are delighted to announce that we will continue our journey with the Blue Oval long into the future,” Dr Story said.
“We are finalising the minor details on the longest sponsorship agreement DJR has ever negotiated with Ford Performance.”
Ford is currently represented in Supercars by DJR, Tickford Racing, Walkinshaw Andretti United, Grove Racing and Blanchard Racing Team. WAU will begin racing Toyotas in 2026 as Triple Eight switches to Ford.
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Sydney on February 21-23. Tickets are on sale now.
