  • Davison rejoined DJR in 2021 after first stint in 2006-08

  • Two-time Bathurst winner to leave at end of 2025

Will Davison and the Shell V-Power Racing Team will part ways at the end of the 2025 Supercars season.

The two-time Bathurst 1000 winner will depart the team following the season-ending bp Adelaide Grand Final, just after Davison records a remarkable milestone.

The first race of the upcoming Penrite Oil Sandown 500 will be Davison’s 600th Supercars start. Only Craig Lowndes, Garth Tander, Mark Winterbottom and James Courtney have more.

After a breakout stint between 2006 and 2008 with Dick Johnson Racing, Davison rejoined the team in 2021 after the departure of Scott McLaughlin, Fabian Coulthard and Team Penske.

Davison claimed five of his 22 wins, and 12 of his 29 poles, with DJR across his two stints.

In a DJR statement, both driver and team agreed "the time is right to pursue new opportunities."

The announcement comes amid a tough season for the 43-year-old, who sits 19th in points with eight top 10s in 29 races.

The third-generation racer claimed a podium in New Zealand back in April, just his third podium since the start of 2023.

"I've had two great stints with this team, and I'm incredibly proud of what we achieved together,” said Davison, who won the Bathurst 1000 in 2009 and 2016.

"It's the right time for both of us to move forward. To achieve 600 starts at Sandown — a track that means so much to my family — is special. I'll be giving it everything across these final two rounds."

Team owner Johnson said: "Will's been family to us, and that won't change. He's a champion and a true professional.

"These last two rounds, we'll be doing everything we can to send him off with the results he deserves. That's what you do for blokes like Will.”

The Shell V-Power Racing Team will announce its 2026 driver line-up in due course.

Davison and teammate Brodie Kostecki will resume their 2025 campaigns at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 on November 14-16.
