New parts installed on David Reynolds' Team 18 Camaro
Reynolds has returned worst start to a season through three rounds
Team 18 driver has failed to record a top 10 finish in 2025
Team 18 has swung the changes on David Reynolds’ car in a bid to resurrect the veteran’s stuttering 2025 campaign.
In what is statistically his worst start to a Supercars season, Reynolds sits 21st in the championship after Round 3, and is already 220 points from 10th position.
The 2017 Bathurst winner has failed to record a top 10 finish through three rounds for the first time in his career.
New teammate Anton De Pasquale sits eighth overall, and leads Reynolds in the qualifying head-to-head 9-1, and the race head-to-head 8-1.
In response to Reynolds' post-New Zealand call to "really sit down and talk about what's going on," new parts have been installed on the TRADIE Energy Chevrolet Camaro.
Reynolds is keen to see if the new parts help his cause this weekend in Tasmania, where he was on the pace last August.
“On my side of the garage, the #20 side, it’s been a pretty average year so far,” thr 39-year-old said.
"We’ve got a few new parts in the car this weekend to try and figure out what’s going on with my speed. It’s a really positive step, and hopefully we can start getting on top of it. I was really fast at Tassie last year, so we’ve got a good base to build from.
“Anton’s #18 car has been quick all year, so it’s going to be interesting to see how we compare. I can’t wait to get stuck into it.”
The improvements could prove crucial should Reynolds qualify towards the front, with Symmons Plains boasting a remarkably close average pole-winning margin in Supercars.
“The margins at Tassie are always super tight because it’s such a short track,” Reynolds said.
"Technically there are only three or four proper corners, so a hundredth of a second makes a huge difference. That’s why you’ll see something like 24 cars within six-tenths of a second in qualifying, it’s ridiculous."
Track action in Tasmania commences Friday. Tickets on sale now.
