Brodie Kostecki reveals input into new Perth circuit design
2023 Supercars champion consulted on new Perth track

The expertise of local star Brodie Kostecki has been tabbed for the design of the new Perth street circuit, which is set to host Supercars in 2027.
A new $217.5 million precinct is set to open the 2027 Supercars season, with images released last week of a proposed circuit layout.
Kostecki, who hails from Western Australia, has been consulted on for designs, alongside the likes of Superars Hall of Famer Mark Skaife.
The new Burswood Park circuit is set to replace the historic CARCO.com.au Raceway, which will host Round 5 of the 2025 season on June 6-8.
Speaking on The Formation Lap, Kostecki said he was “surprised” not only by the call-up, but by Skaife’s experience in circuit designs.
“It’s exciting times for Western Australia and Perth,” Kostecki said.
“It’s great to see the government really get behind such a great event. I was kind of surprised, I guess someone like myself and some other drivers to put some input into the track.
“I was able to work alongside Skaifey, who I haven’t really seen in action before, outside of meeting him at the track. He’s a serious operator.”
Supercars legend Skaife has acted as iEDM’s lead circuit designer on the street circuits in Townsville, Homebush and Newcastle, and the revised Gold Coast and Pukekohe layouts.
“He’s done some really great things with some tracks in the past, like Pukekohe, there were some changes there that I didn’t know he was a part of,” Kostecki added.
“Sort of just going through learning that process, and trying to do the best job with the space we have to work with.
“I’m quite happy with what we have at the moment. Nothing’s locked away yet from my understanding, but what an exciting time for me and for Perth, and seeing what’s on the cards for the future."
Tickets for the upcoming June 6-8 event in Perth are on sale now.
